but I can't find a THING WRONG. iN COLD WEATHER the temp won't go above 120' but in warmer weather it's at 180'. Everything flushed and only 30,000 miles. Any IDEAS ????

I think 180 to 200 is very normal (check the manual). Mine is always at 180 to 190 no matter the outside temp. Up long grades it might hit 205 to 210. Maybe we should all use the coolant you're using!

Ron thanks,
This a.m. it's 40' outside and I can't get the engine hot, not above 100' after an hour. Then the green "low coolent temp" light comes on. Everything runs perfect but the green light scares me as well as the low temp. I thought maybe a thermostat? But don't want to tear it apart until I'm sure.

brings back bad memories for me...when I bought my truck the temp was fine and it ran great, but the low coolant light kept coming on (sometimes hard to start, but I thought it was a low battery). Then the temp would spike and overflow. It was hard to re-create for the dealer. It finally did it while getting an alignment -- turned out to be a cracked block. Bummer. The engine had 10k miles on it!

It sounds like the T-stat might be stuck open. Have you been adding coolant to get the idiot light to go off?

Kevin,
It doesn't use any coolant and I had it flushed. The thermo seems ok and everything is great when its warmed up. The problemis getting the engine temp up

Kevin,
I had the system flushed and it uses NO coolant. I just can't get the engine up to temp unlesss its hot out. It stays at about 110' and the light goes on if it doesn't hit 133' ????
