Default And Our Government Wants to talk about GAS GUZZLING HUMMERS

Has anyone ever thought how stupid our government is? They want to sit back, and talk about gas guzzling SUV's and how we need to go "green" and save gas, and all this other garbage.

This is what I find very stupid. Has anyone ever been off the coast of the U.S.? I have done a lot of traveling by sea, and let me tell you there are HUNDREDS of oil rigs out there 30,40, and 50 miles off the coast of the U.S.

Those Oil Rigs are owned and operated by OTHER COUNTRIES. Why is it, they can come over here, and drill off our coast, but we cant? If we did that, it would give America's more high paying jobs.

Why is it, we have to buy our oil from the other side of the world when we have our own oil here?

I wont use any names, but it just burns me up, everytime you turn around all you hear is going green, saving gas, more miles per gallon. If the government was so smart, they would figure out how to stop global warming instead of worrying about a little Hummer, or some other SUV getting 15 miles per gallon.

Let me run this interesting fact by you all, and you tell me if this adds up or not.

When it comes to ships, I dont claim to know everything, but I am very educated about them.

A Cargo Ship that carries Crude Oil from lets say, Saudi Arabia to the U.S. If you measured in pounds of fuel per horsepower per hour. Roughly speaking, 0.25 lbs/hp/hr is considered to be pretty good figure, and 100,000 hp is a low-side estimate of an average container ship's horsepower (some have more, some have less). This then works out to 25,000 pounds of marine Bunker fuel per hour. Bunker fuels weighs about 7lbs/gallon(maybe a little more), which would equal about 3,600 gallons per burned per hour. A common cruise speed is 25 knots or 28.75mph. To make the math easier, let's call it 30mph. What this means is that for a container ship to travel 30 miles, it'll burn through 3,600 gallons, which is the same as burning 120 gallons to go one mile . There are 5280 feet in a mile, so if 120 gallons is good for 5280 feet, then one gallon is burned every 44 feet!!

Lets pretend that from Miami, Florida to Saudi Arabia its 7,000 Nautica Miles.(WHICH IS ACTUALLY FURTHER THAN 7,000 NAUTICA MILES) If it were, that distance, that means that ship would burn 840,000 GALLONS, and how many of those ships transport Oil to the U.S.???? Multiply the ships and you will get BILLIONS of gallons of wasted fuel when we can drill, and use our own fuel, to create jobs in the U.S. and best of all, IT WOULD LOWER OUR GAS PRICES.
I really feel its safe to say a cargo ship would burn 1 Million Gallons to bring oil to the U.S. Which would be like 100 Tractor Trailer Tankers of wasted fuel.
I guess the ship has zero emissions, and is hybrid huh.

Now when our stupid government talks all this crap about a gas guzzling hummer, someone needs to smack the **** out of them and tell them to go green and save on all this wasted fuel and not worry about these SUV's I get so sick and tired of hearing about going green, global warming, gas guzzling hummers.

I love my hummers, and I dont care if they got 7 miles to the gallon (which they dont) I still would not trade them in.

Sorry everyone........just had to vent a little, and thought you all might like to look at a few facts.

X3
I'm with you 100%. Why is 30% of the oil from the Alaskan pipeline shipped overseas???? I remember when they said the Alaskan pipeline was going to solve most of our oil problems.

I got this emailed to me about 2 weeks ago. I followed the link given at the bottom and it seems to be true.

Subject: Fw: This is not a joke Oil in United States

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April
('08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ; western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration
(EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable.... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada . For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight.

2. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World!

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy......WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention/ire up yet? Hope so! Now, while you're thinking about it .... and hopefully P.O'd, do this:

3. Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you want to complain about gas prices--- because by doing NOTHING, you've forfeited your right to complain.
--------

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it or follow this link. It will blow your mind.
