Hummer ends production 2010
I am new here. I guess everyone has heard by now Hummer to cease production 2010 if no buyer is found. Most recent interested parties have backed out on purchase.
Any thoughts on how that will affect the value of our Hummers if operations cease?

Re: Hummer ends production 2010
According to yesterdays news there are still interested parties including a private investment group...
It will probably go down to the wire where the best deal will be sought by the bottom fishers waiting for bankrupcy. Once the final solution is close the deal will be done

Re: Hummer ends production 2010
There are still SEVERAL interested parties in Hummer. There have even been some offers, but not close to what GM wants. If hey declare bankruptcy the court could decide who gets what, when and for how much. Why should they buy now when they can buy it at a fire sale after GM declares bankruptcy? Then you have the decisions on the H3 Shreveport plant, AM General H2 plant, and what part the civilian H1 will play in any negotiations. GM owns the rights to the H1, but AMG made it. Don't count AM General and Chengfeng Motors out. Plus, AM General just got a nice new Humvee contract from the government which would give them enough liquidity and cash. I think it's going to be a while before the final card is played in this game. I foresee the biggest problem is with the Hummer dealers being able to hang on much longer and the new buyer will loose its distribution base.

Well I'll just buy Backwards doing HUMMER and fix em up and keeep em going. Maybe I move back and get me and H2 to go with my H3.
The real shame is putting all those AMERICAN GM H3 and H2 Workers out on the streets.

More wild speculations.
Hummer should be sold off within the next 2 weeks. My money is on a U.S. buyer - and I don't mean Obamalamadingdong.

Re: Hummer ends production 2010
My money is on a US buyer too for Hummer! I've noticed a shift in attitude towards more buying of American cars. At a get together at the Lake yesterday, I took a good friend and his wife to get some more food for our barbecue in my Hummer down the rain soaked mud road and onto the highway. After we got back, he said, "these are really nice cars, I'm going to buy American next time." This is from a couple that has two Hondas and a Toyota for their daughter.

Re: Hummer ends production 2010
I saw in today's paper that on Monday (6-1-09) GM is about to announce the plans for Hummer, Saturn and Opel.. so we'll see next week hopefully.
