I had the same problem with my F250 Powerstroke.
I had to stop it at $50 and then start up another transaction.

I finally got smart, and would full up when my tank was half-empty or half-full (for you optimists).

Why not try filling when you reach half, and all your worries will be gone.
You should only have this fill up problem one last time in your life if you follow the half rule.

Why would it matter. It is a gas guzzler and there is not a need to calculate fuel economy. Just drive it and fill it up when the light comes on and tells you that you are almost out of gas.

Have to. Prevents detenation, thus keeps the
knock sensor from retarding the timing.

Besides, it is highly recommended with a SC.
Tahoe gets regular and gets around 13mpg.

Phil, I am glad you brought that issue up of octane. I have the air box, headers and exhaust on my H2 and I have the Predator tuning system. I have the tune in from there programer and have used the real time data system to monitor the knock retart readings from the ECU, I run regular 87 octane and with WOT have no KRTiming at all. So Phil is correct save your money unless it is 105 temp and or you have a SC.

It's not the card it is the various stations policys, just as in a few areas you must pay 1st, then pump. I gues I cuold fill up on the half rule.. it woiuld mean that I have to go to get gas everyday.

900 miles at 9.9mpg

Why don't you close out the transaction at $50 and start another to fill up.. or change credit cards.

Hypertech III for most performance requires Premium. Supercharger on Chev Sub requires premium. I ran reg in both before upgrades.

Everyone must buy and use high octane. It is better for your engine and will increase gas mileage. You also will not have to change your oil as often and the air in your tires will not need to be rotated nearly as often. Only about every ten thousand miles or so.

I owned a Texaco several years ago and believe me, all my customers needed premium.

Seriously, though, my station was not in the best part of town and I sold a butt load of premium as a percentage compared to other owners in more affluent neighborhoods. Go figure...

Hey I moved to Vegas and now my avg econ has pushed up to 12.1 mpg. I guess the lack of traffic has helped. avg also 360 miles to 27.5 gallons.
