It\'s a Dry Heat is off the scale

Please don't take this the wrong way. I wish I could get an H1. Where did the 6.5 diesel in the H1 come from? I know GM sold the 6.5 to AMG, but did it get its start from the 350 conversion to the 6.2 diesel. In 2005 when the Duramax and maybe Caterpillar engine comes out with Allison transmission. that will be a hell of a combination. I talked to a chevy HD truck owner and he said the engine and transmistion (cost him 12K)

The 6.2 was a new motor and the 6.5 an upgrade of that motor.
The 350 olds to 350 diesel was a joke basicly.

6.2 and 350 olds completely different.

As for $12000 option for D/A and G80, I don't think so.

$6805 (HD power package option)over 6.0 gas.

The 6.2 and the 6.5 were both designed by detriot diesel. They share no similarties to the 350 whatsoever. I dont know who the hell started this crap (I have had more then one know it all dip**** try and tell me the engine in my H1 was a bored out 350) about the 6.2 and 6.5 are bored out 350's but they are wrong. The 350 diesel was designed in the late seventies and was the first diesel pickup chvey offered. It was a very poor engine which led gm to contract Detroit Diesel to design a new diesel for the chevy pickup trucks. I think that the D-max runs about five grand and the Allison runs another 3 or so, but I could be wrong.
