Default Which OPTIMA battery to use?

The Optima fit guide online doesn't list the HUMMERs. If you have any experience with them in your H3, maybe you can answer these questions:
  • Do you know which model/part number you used? (Was it the 34 series red top?)
  • How did it fit (e.g., taller, wider, etc.)?
  • How did you secure it (e.g., gravity, strap or other)?
  • Any pictures of it sitting pretty in your engine compartment?

We don't own an H3 at this time, but either the red top or yellow top group 34 Optima should work out fine. You may also want to consider an Odyssey battery as well. Same concept as the Optima (AGM), but many will argue an even better battery...

The PC1500 is most comparable to the Optima:

Desert Dan is an unknown quantity at this point

I put in a Red Top.

It came with a different clamp/clip that fits at the bottom of the battery. The nylon strap is too loose with the optima and the plastic cover needs to be trimmed to make room for the sight change in the terminal locations.

Please accept our apologies for the delayed response.

We do not have information for the H3 as of yet, although if it takes the same battery as the H2, the correct battery would be the 34/78 red top or D34/78 in the yellow top.

Please feel free to contact customer service at the number below if you have any other questions. Thank you for your interest and support of Optima Batteries.

Disregard the previous post.

Those batteries are 10" long. I tried another 10" battery this evening that the base service station had; however, it wouldn't fit (at least not without some cutting). I am trying to find a nearby Optima dealer with some of the other models available that are just over 9" long.

I am getting the sh*ts of my battery leaving me standing there with my jumper cables.
