Default Hi-Lift ideas...??

Anyone done or seen anything like this done for the 3? I wish there was a rack to replace the stock -hood fake air vent- which would hold a jack. I live part time in the city, so putting the jack on the roof wont work (low height parking structures). The spare wont work either due to a jerry can mount. Thanks- any opinions or ideas would be awesome.

Put it on the Roof Rails or bolt it to a Roof Rack. Another thought would be to mount the jack on the rear door where the Gobi ladder goes?

If you have a front brush guard You could bolt it to that ??

It would be too heavy to lift the hood with it mounted on the fake hood vent. On the Jeep picture it is bolted on to the hinge not sheet metal.

I have put the high lift on the floor in front of the back seat. Right now it is is under my rear storage/sleeping platform that I built. It is a pain to get out though.

The more I think about it I like the idea of it being mounted to the rear door. It would be easier to get at when needed than on the roof rack.

I wonder if it could be mounted to the Gobi ladder? or to the door with similar brakets?

What about mounting the jack to the hitch, resting right beneath the spare. Using a mount that angled up instead of straight out, to retain most of the departure angle...

If you get stuck in a ditch or snowbank it would be hard to get at the jack and it would get lots of road spray mud and dust back there.

Also if you get in a small rear end accident there goes your jack

Whats the point of putting a Hi-Lift on an H3 anyways? There are no flat load bearing surfaces you could use it on. Get a winch.

You can use it on the rockrails, or use a lift mate to lift from the wheel. They also have a bumper attachment, although I don't know that I'd want to use it on the rear bumper. But it might work well in the tow hooks.

Besides how is a winch gonna help you if you pop a bead somewhere that requires more clearance than the crappy OEM jack provides.

Kind looks like the best options are mounted to the roof rails/rack or maybe ON the back door to the left of the spare with these...

Nice to have a rack to mount the jack on. Have you thought about making a mount to bolt the jack directly to the roof rail? Just a thought?

I've got it on the roof rails. I have U-Bolts with wing nuts and lock washers keeping it on. It works fine. Ideally, I Would like it mounted on the back in an upright position next to a J can on a swing arm tire mount. BUt,,,,,,who has made that for us yet?

I just got the new 4 Wheel Parts catalogue......ahem! nothing for the H3 except for the rancho lift. There's a thousand things for the FJ. What the hell? I see tons of the 3's on the road.

I know what you mean..... seems like not much is around yet for the 3 except bling and B/S. Maybe that will change in the up coming year.
