So what was your first 4-wheel Drive (add your second, third, etc as you see fit).

Mine - '65 Jeep which was also my first vehicle, followed by a 75 Ramcharger, then a 83 CJ, then a '92 Suburban, and now the H2. Plus and minuses all the way around but all were and have been fun, fun, fun...

Interesting read, so I am jumping in on an old thread....

73 GMC Jimmy - Full-time 4wd, lifted with 37s
83 Chevy Blazer - 4" lift with 35s
91 GMC Jimmy - 4" lift with 33s
99 Tahoe - 4" lift with 33s on 18" wheel
05 H2 SUT - soon to be lifted

and I still have the 91 Jimmy and the 99 Tahoe

Wow, you had TWO Napco trucks! My understanding is that those trucks are very rare nowadays and worth a few bucks now.

Do you have any idea how much that 73 cost new?

Just wondering. I had a 73 Chevy too, and I was wondering how much it went for new. I had mine setup like your. 4" lift, 35" tires. I didn't bother with flares though. It was a shortbed with a 350/TH350/NP205. I really miss that truck, I kick myself for getting rid of it. Only consolation I have is that those trucks are still all over the place and cheap, so I'll be able to get another one eventually. I plan on a K5 Blazer the 2nd time around, preferably a 73-75.

Why so many late model trucks, Tim? Do you own a business that uses them? Or do you just buy a new one whenver your old one gets dirty?

Just curious.

Oh, and your nickname sure fits. I bet that's what the guys at your local Chevy dealer refer to you as.

Damn Hummie, your past vehicles reads like my wish list!

You didn't buy your '73 Chevy new, did you?

Were the 58 and 57 GM 4x4's conversions you did, or were they Napco trucks? I LOVE the look of those trucks. My uncle has a '56 years ago that he had swapped a 350/4speed into.

1973 Chevy Cheyenne 1/2 ton shortbed pickup.

It had a 350/TH350/NP205 combo, and I lifted it 4" and ran 35x12.50 Mud Kings.

That truck was awesome, and went just about anywhere. I wish I had kept it.

Jeeps with the Quadra Drive or Quadra Trac transfer case are fulltime. Selec-Trac Jeeps also have the option of fulltime 4wd.

I believe Land/Range Rovers are all fulltime 4wd.

The H1 is Fulltime.

Fulltime 4wd was also available on early 70's to early 80's GM and Dodge trucks.

I know there are more that I'm not thinking of right now.
