Default Lost Issues

There are a couple of issues that were discussed a while ago that were never resolved:

1) Metallic sound at startup when cold - The fan was one of the suggested sources of the noise. Has this been resolved, or is it just warmer now and it doesn't happen?

2) Coolant near coolant cap - I noticed that there are slots around the underside of the radiator cap that had dried coolant in them. Anyone else notice this?

First issue did seem to die. I never had that problem, I had the chirping that a new pulley or tensioner fixed.

As for the second issue, never looked, now I'm going to have to look next time I open the hood...thanks.

#1 - It much warmer around the country now, so no more cold startups. I had it (still have the digital camera video to take into the dealer when I get around to it). I'm guessing it was never resolved, but will come back up next winter.

#2 - I had coolant all over the engine compartment when I bought the hummer (6 miles on it). Was on the radiator hoses, belts, air box, etc. Looked like an antifreeze giant came all over the engine. Never really thought anything of it until saw it here on the forum and found that it could hurt the belts. Called my dealer and asked them about it, checked a couple in their lot when I was there last time (in January) and didn't see any other H3s with that problem.
