If so, how easy/difficult was it getting those lugs off using the stock emergency kit?

It is so easy, I just hold my phone up to my mouth and say "Call triple A"

Sorry, it was just to easy to pass up and I don't have an answer for you.

Yeah, I'll probably end up calling AAA too!! I guess it's just the Boy Scout in me - I want to be prepared and able to handle it myself.

I had to change one, rear passenger side. let me put it this way, it took me more time to get the gear out of the rear door and open all the plastic and rubber covers than the time it took me to get the lugs off, REAL EASY, then it took me DOUBLE the time to put every damn thing back in place

I have had to change two tires, one in the front and one in the rear. Both times due to them being slashed here in lovely Baltimore. The hardest part is figurin out how to put the jack back together. Jacking it up & down was very easy both times! The jack goes together very nicely. I would say better then the one on my Ford and Toyota.

Just because I already have AAA but don't have my H3 yet

Once I get the H3, then OnStar it is.

Yeah. Still getting used to the convenience of having OnStar. Before this I had a 94 Volvo 850 Wagon. No OnStar there. Hey, how long does it take to pump the H3 tire with the 12 volt? Quicker than the roadside assistance I'm sure, but just curious.

How heavy or hard is it to lift the tire up on the lugs?

Yeah, I have to admit, tire's a bit heavy, maybe not for Gov. Shwarzenegger, but a bit for me, a friend had to help me

So sledge. I am a wimp and can lift with my legs but I don't have any upper body strength. I weigh about 115. I don't want to take a tire off and not be able to put the damn thing on the lugs. How much do you weigh? If you are stronger then me and had a friend help you I will wait for OnStar.

Hey H3,

fourfourto mentioned it earlier, but plugs and air pump might be another option.

LOL, I just read my post quickly. Not to be confused with butt plugs.

The trick I've always used for tire changing is to only jack the car/truck up just enough that the studs are lose in the wheel. Then your not lifting the new tire, just locating it on the studs.

another way when in a bad spot is fix a flat in a can if you can work a hairspray can you can use fix a flat. it sometimes hard to plug tire if you havent done it before. i would get 2 cans being that H3 tires are big than following day have tire fixed.

I read an earlier thread that cautioned against using cans b/c it screws up the tire pressure sensor.
