Suddenly one day, for no apparent reason, the check engine warning lamp activated. After calling H2's Road Side Assistance, they indicated that it was an emissions problem and they towed it to the nearest dealer where it took up residence for more than a week. When it was finally returned, it was discovered that the plastic tether in the gas cap had not retracted fully into the fuel filler and the cap had not properly seated. To avoid this, turn the gas cap about three times after you have put it back on to make sure that it "clicks". Should it happen to you, just put the gas cap back on properly, and disconnect the battery to reset the computer, as it has read an emissions error code for a mere loose gas cap. You will have to reprogram all of your personalized settings. A lot of aggravation over nothing.

Yes, Hummer's Road Side Assistance indicated that engine damage could be caused, so they sent a flat bed truck to haul it off. Yes, it took a week to get that done, and glue the door trim back on. There was not one single part used or ordered. Probably had to call GM because they didn't have a shop manuel yet. Go figure.

What does door trim have to do with your gas cap? Look what you've done, you made me read your original posts again and again to check what did I missed.
Towed? 1 week? door trim? Not being disrespectful, but it took one week to turn the gas cap 3 times?

1 week!! That's it?!! Since November 23rd my piece of sh*t has been in the shop for more than 40 days. I'll give a very detailed post when I have the time. Too frustrated right now. If I didn't love it so much I'd sell it and wait for the second generation H1.
