Default Driving down the highway....

Has anyone had this happen to them. I was going down the highway at around 60 mph and all the sudden I give it the gas the tach revs' up but the H3 wont go. I had to coast off the highway. I finally figured out to put it in 4 High lock and got it home. My H3 only has 15,xxx miles on it and never been off of the black top ( I know that's why it broke down ) . I'm thinking that the transfer case has gone bad. Any Ideas...
