timgco if they rub "a bit" that doesn't fit. sorry to sound like johnny cockrin with the ryhme. i mean i dont really like the idea of any rub on a brand new expensive tire. they look awesome but i dont want any damage. do you plan on adding wheel spacers to correct? i want to keep my wheels or atleast the size and add 35's but i would like to be comfortable with the clearance in the fender wheels.

when you bump the tire size it's pretty tough not to touch a tad here and there, especially if you twist the suspension up. with these the fonrt doesn't flex much so you avoid alot of contact.
I would expect to trim a bit here and there. remember every manufacturers tire is going to have a differnt actual size from the one listed, wheel width/air press etc can also affect the actual size and your backspacing/width will affect contact

LMAO at your avatar.
Ok,
Defenition of rubbing on my truck: It only touches on the dr sd sway bar at full lock and you cannot even feel it in the steering column/ wheel. It is so minor that it won't mess up your tire. The only reason I even mentioned it, was so that owners wanting to MT's on there with larger lugs than my tires will expect a little more rubbing on the swaybar.
the H2 I had with 35's rubbed more than the H3 with 35's. the 37's on the H2 polished the swaybar on both sides at full lock and never showed wear that it was damaging the tire. I only had about 14,000 miles of wear on them though.

Cool, glad it worked out even though you had to take one for the team. If your ever down this way the beer is on me. Would love to see some pic's when you get time, maybe front, rear and side shots?

OK tire guys you seem to know what your talking about. I'm thinking of going with a 17 or 18 inch wheel. I know the extra rubber is needed at the sidewall when airing down, but will the slightly larger wheels get f-ed up when offroad or will there still be enough rubber. Obviously, if I'm too hard on it, any wheel will be damaged but I'm just talking trailing, hill climbing, and nothing too crazy. Thanks for the input.

You'll still be fine with 17's. 18's would still be good too, but you will find the price starts to jump up there too.

Mathematically, they should work....but they'll stick out quite a bit. Let us know how it works out.

They will stick waaaaaaayyyyyy out! If you go look at my post inthe photos section with the lift, those were 4.5" of backspace. I hated it so bad becasue you drive through on puddle or rain/ snow and your rig is trashed! If that's the look you want, great, it looks good. But as a daily driver, I am happy they are back in!

NEOCON1....
I was playing around with the numbers and this is what I'm figuring. The 17x9's should stick out about 3" farther with the 35's, than the stock rims with 33's. Even with a wider tire & rim, the interior of the 35's will be out about an inch from where the 33's sit now. Rubbing shouldn't be an issue. Looking forward to the pics.

hey timgco 17x9 with 4.5 bs they will stick out about 2 in more than stock should be ok i like the stomper look and so cal not as many puddles and stuff to splash sides. not sure how they will tuck up in wheel wells in serious flex situations ? hopefully the tires wont rip my fenders off if problem with serious flex will throw the 33's back on for hardcore wheelin just until the rough country is ready for us . thanks again for all the info on your experience with the rancho kit
