I have not looked in the manual yet to see if this is possible but I would like to ask the following question anyway:

Assuming all is operating normally, will the truck automatically change from normal all-time 4 wheel drive mode to 4 wheel high lock WITHOUT pressing the button on the dash whille you are driving?? I would think it would not but I wanted a few opinions. thanks

It will not automatically shift, you must push the button. You must be at 45mph or less to get the computer to shift, and you should niot drive in this gear for extended periods of time. You will also notice the truck to feel different if you are on paved surfaces as the wheels are trying to turn at the same speed. For 4 low lock, speed must be below 3 mph to shift. A rolling shift is at 1-2mph is the best way to shift into this gear.

Unless you have an early build without an update to the calibration Then you can shift at any speed. Ouch....

Hell, every Monday is a black Monday at GM. We never know who is going to who is staying from day-to-day. Last Monday they dumped 100 more, and the rumors are spreading about another 400+ sometime later this month.
If they shoved me out tomorrow with the 15-month severance package, it would not cause me to lose sleep. If I stay, I stay, makes no real difference.
But, thanks for asking.
