I carry it out back on a factory carrier.
I keep thinking about taking it off, but I know that if I do within a week I'll need it.
Better safe than sorry.

DTRY...Is that because of offroading, road trips or what? I've been toting mine around for 1-1/2 yrs in town and just put it in the garage this weekend. I'm not into rockcrawling, yet, and I do carry a SUV fix-a-flat. I'm also thinking about getting the rear tire carrier. Your thoughts?

I carry the spare on my Manik rack on top. It's completely out of the way and I still have it just in case I need it because I off road all the time.

I keep the spare in the garage, have for a couple of years now. I carry a big can of fix-a-flat. I've been on several long trips and havn't missed it, luckily. However I'm more than like going to buy a rear tire carrier in the near future as I will be traveling long distances more often.

Thanks for the input. That's my concern. I'm planning on some traveling and somehow just think I should have spare tire. Don't worry about it running around Vegas. But I also have a couple BIG dogs in the back so no inside spare tire. I'm looking at the one kacyk bought from GStyle. Price is right and looks like a nice clean application. Opps..forgot the pic of one of my "kids"

I just like having the spare handy... just in case. It doesn't do me any good in the garage.
Plus, I like the idea of the extra econo catbox hood killer back there too. Who knows, I might get lucky and bounce one of those Honda Element Outhouses off into the weeds with it.

Hmmmm. Hadn't thought of the hood killer aspect. Ordered mine last night.

Hummer roadside assistance won't cover you if you don't have your spare with you.
Since the aerodynamics of the H2 are not exactly state of the art, I put mine on top. Besides, if you have one of those racks for the back, you have to open it EVERYTIME you want to put groceries in the back! Then you get all dirty everytime you touch it, yeah, I'll never have to use it if I have it, so it's on top. Then I don't even really see it. Besides, I like the Merlin Perkins look. I take video while Jim wrastles the Anaconda.

I have the rear carrier. Works great and has afforded me protection when I was rear ended. I was hit by a minvan. The minivan had extensive front end damage and had to be towed away. I was hit on the tire. The cover had a 1/4 inch tear in it, otherwise I had no damage. I was stopped at a light and the wonman that hit me said "I never even saw you". Go figure.

The spare is usually in the garage. Last time I had it in the truck I almost backed over a little old lady at the grocery store. I couldn't see her at all. After I apologized for being stupid, she told me my truck was beautiful. I guess that's because she didn't see the dirty undercarriage.

And that is another perfect example of how Darwinism is supposed to work. If you had squashed her then you would have rid the genetic pool of slow inattentive genes.

mine is on back w/ a SMA tire carrier...a little annoying when the dig gets in and out, and when loading stuff, but wouldn't let that over shadow the gain in cargo capacity and the look, whihc i actually preffer

I always carry mine, rear tire carrier. I don't want it taking up room in the garage, plus I like the way it looks on the truck. I can't see squat at the back, but it hasn't bothered me any.
