So my immediate problem is that my kids are still a little too small to get into the H3 without the nerf bars I put on. Nerf bars+kids=

I went wheelin around my paintball field the other day and now, the bars aren't so cool anymore. I get hung up on them on a couple hills.

Is there any alternative that is at least fairly ease to remove when I go off road?

It takes me all of about 10 minutes to remove my nerf bars... Its just some bolts...

I should have elaborated on the removal thing..

Yeah It's fairly ease to remove them, it's where to put them thats a drag.

If I remove them ahead of time, no problem. My memory is crap and I know I'm going to get somewhere and realize I forgot to take em off.

How are the U-Steps as far as getting hung up on them?

Thanks guys

anything you putt down there will get hung up. The advantage of the U steps is that you can mount the factory rock rails and still use them without any mods. If you plan to offroad those rock rails are a must! Rocker panels are expensive to fix!

x2

The steps are easy to get off and throw in the back of the H3, then just bolt them back on when you need them. If you're going to do any off-roading and you have kids or a short wife (I'm guilty on both of those counts), then this is the way to go.

ok cool- that makes this easy. My other half is short too.

Drag part is I dont have the rock rails. To do this right I need to ditch the nerfs and pick up the rock rails and steps.

Thanks for the info folks.

BTW, what do the rails run anyway?

do a quick search (FIND at the top of the thread list) for rock rails. There are several threads with pics in them. I think it was Timgco who posted some really good pics of them. They look pretty damn sweet!
