just wondering what is involved in running the backup cam through the factory touch screen, obviously i will order the cam w/o monitor but what aditional parts will be needed to acomplish this? will this be somethin the car stereo local shop will be able to do?

You will need a video input. do a search on this site. Very easy to install. Cost between $200 to $300.

If you are using the hitchcam rear camera, they have one called a navcam, which is the camera
and the parts needed to make it go through the tsn. you have to take the radio apart and replace a ribbon inside the radio.

if you would like the ability to add another input device ie: DVD player you can use this unit

the picture they use is of the old unit the newest one comes with 2 inputs.
if you plan on adding a DVD player you will also need an audio input device and you can pick one up from there as well.
i have the H2 cam as well as an indash DVD unit and enjoy them both. The input device will allow the backup cam to become the proprietary unit when the vehicle is placed in reverse and you may also wire it up to a switch so that you can check what is behind you while you are moving forward.
