How is anyone else doing in regards to the wear on the factory tires? I have 27,000 on my H2, and have noticed the front tires wear faster. I do mostly local driving on paved roads, and have rotated them twice so far. I do not think that I need new tires yet, but I like the look of the full tread depth. I was running at 37 psi, but changed it now the 48-50 psi.

This could be your problem.. 27K miles and only 2 tire rotations.. Every 4WD drive I have owned it has been recommend to rotate every 5 to 6K.. I always have larger than stock tires so I rotate mine a max of every 5K.. Yes your fronts will wear faster . Of course I don't have much experience with long term tire wear. I get bored with my wheels or tires about once a year and have to buy a new look.

48-50 Psi? Isn't that too much? From my experience, that's too much and your tire will wear more down the middle than the outsides. I have 40K on mine and rotate every 5K also. I still have quite a bit of tread left but looking for a new set soon.

The tires actually call for 50psi cold. The reason mine are worn more than usual is from airing down for a trail ride, and driving on the pavement to the nearest compressor afterwards. I'll probably get 20-25k out of the stock tires, but I've ordered new 37's anyway.

I kept 45-50 in the Factory BFG's and took them off at 36,xxx miles with good tread still left. I mounted them on my factory rims for extended warranty work. I rotate them and have them balanced every 5,000 miles. I put Goodyear MT/R's on and now have almost 44,000 miles on the H2 now.

If you look at the sticker inside the drivers side door jamb it states the front and rear tires should be inflated to 37 PSI. Only the spare calls for 50 PSI.

I keep it simple and have mine rotated every time I get the oil changed at about every 5K miles.

Thanks for the info. I ran my tires at 35-40 psi for the first 22,000 + miles. Change the pressure after I read some posts here. I like the feeling and the ride of the higher pressure. I know what it says on the door, but the tires say 50 psi. I only rotate them about every 8,000 to 9,000 miles. I rotate them every other oil change. It is due for a rotation now. I will keep them this winter and get new ones in the spring at around 30,000 miles. I'm pretty happy with these tires overall.

I could get another 8k-10k more miles out of mine. They really were good tires but I really like my MT/R's.

BTW, the manual states to rotate every 6,000 to 8,000 miles, so with a little over 26,500 I'm a couple thousand behind. No big deal. If they wear uneven, I will buy new ones.

I gotta agree with Paragon......
if they put my truck on the rack to
change the oil, then I have them rotate
the tires for S&G!

Keeps me from having to keep up with the mileage.

Why would the spare be different? Same tire, right? I'm going by what BFG says, not GM.

my tires are shredded at 12k miles (off roading, not cornering the beast at 70mph). The dealer said I can get 4 stock tires on stock rims for $150 each. Blew my mind.

Just got back from there myself, $420.00 for 4 brand new, still got the ink on the tread, wheels and tires (the $20.00 is Uncle Sam's cut)

I still can't believe it, and they are still in and on my truck now!

BTW.........
Those things take up a lot of room!
