If you buy from that dealer, how much does it cost to have the car shipped to you?

I paid to have a car shipped from TN to AZ and it was $900 uncovered. If you want covered, you can usually plan around $16-1800. Dealers usually do not ship. you will have to simply check the pricing online.

Yes, I've found that approximately half way across the US, uncovered is around $1000, covered is higher, but not always double.

It pays to research any transport company. Don't take the cheapest one you find, they're cheaper for a reason. There are sites out there that review some of these companies and have customer feedback from people who have used them. Its definitely worth doing your homework to make sure you pick a company that is licensed/bonded and insured, so you know they will take care of your baby. There are some bad ones out there, but there are also some good ones. If you want them to stick to a specific schedule or 'rush', prepare to pay dearly. If you are flexible and they can deliver anytime during say a one-week period, you won't have any worries. They usually like a two week lead time , with delivery during any part of that second week.

http://www.lynchhummer.com has his own enclosed shipping tractor and trailer. It might be worth it to look at his dealership when buying.

Mid-States 800-759-0947
has shipped a lot of Hummers. If memory serves me correctly they are the company that ships the trucks (H1) from South Bend to the dealerships around the country. Of course they are not covered but if they just happen to be at a dealership you are buying from they could get your truck and return to your location on their return trip, or whatever.

I know that my mom paid about $1K for her dealer to ship from KC to Sarasota a few years ago. It did take a few weeks as they needed to get a wider trailer than the one they used for the rest of their vehicles. If you want, I can also check with my uncle. He has used a guy for at least ten years to haul vehicles around for him. As I recall he quoted about $1,500 to my mom and it was a little further than you will need to go. He just wasn't available when she needed him. He does a great job too. Used to haul my uncles H1 around for him. Let me know.

The prices here are right and it is usally better to fly in and drive back if you trying to save money. The truck will get the same road and weather treatment on a un-covered transport, just without the miles
