Instructions are in the owner's manual.
How to Reset the Engine Oil Life System
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change your engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. Anytime your oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculate when the next oil change is required. If a situation occurs
where you change your oil prior to a CHANGE OIL
message being turned on, reset the system.
To reset the Engine Oil Life system, do the following:
1. With the engine off, turn the ignition to ON.
2. Press and release the stem in the lower center of the instrument cluster until the OIL LIFE message is displayed.
3. Once the alternating OIL LIFE and RESET
messages appear, press and hold the stem until
several beeps sound. This confirms that the oil life system has been reset.
4. Turn the key to LOCK.
If the CHANGE OIL message comes back on when you
start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure. See DIC Warnings and Messages on page 3-44.

That's almost exactly how mine was. I got my first change around 6500. I have just under 12K miles now, and the light just came on about a week ago. I figured with the long trip this weekend I might as well get it changed.

I've got 1400 miles on mine right now. I figure I'll switch to synthetic at about 5k miles. I'll use either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple.

Hey Fstop... I just changed my oil and followed the directions for resetting the oil change reminder that is in the manual (And above). I did NOT hear any series of beeps. I tried doing it several times and heard nothing. Does this reset the computer ONLY when the oil change reminder comes up? I only had 2000 miles on mine when I changed to Mobil 1 so the reminder hadn't come up. Will resetting it now change the reminder timing?

I'd like to know that as well, as I am planning to change oil soon, and no oil change reminder light yet. If I do the above mentioned procedure, will it reset the reminder timing?
I read somewhere in forums that it's possible to reset in a bit different manner: you just turn the key in the ignition to ON position, but do not start the engine, and three times press the gas pedal within 5 seconds.
Thanks,
Vitaliy.

The same thing happened on my white one, but after 3 resets it worked (got beeps every time), the black one is still at 62% oil life @ ~3500 miles.

Wondering if this is a trend????

It can be tricky, the first time I did mine, I had French in the DIC display; now that really peed me off.
Second time, it was easy.
