Ok, for all who have installed aftermarket exhaust...
What is the best exhaust for the H2, and your opinion on why you choose the system that you did. I am just looking for opinions, and as those may vary, I am not intending to start any arguments, I just want the facts.. Thanks.....

Don't know if it is the best but we went with the SMA offerings. I don't know for sure who makes their stuff, but the headers look like JBA's because of the thick flange. I also like the idea of stainless for long life.

BTW, I'm back from lunch. Give me a call.

You can never have enough horsepower! Yellow LUX, Airforce intake, stainless headers and exhaust, Gobi rack and ladder, roof mounted off road lights, full wrap brush guard, rear light guards, outside tire carrier, Rancho 4" suspension lift, Ultra "EN4CER" 17x9 wheels, Goodyear 37/12.50R17 MT/R tires, removed side-step bars, 9.5ti warn multi-mount winch.

Hey BADRAP

I like the topic - I am concerned as to what exhaust system fits the H2 from the standpoint of the frame - does it hang down or is it protected within frame. Also do you need headers with muffler to have a true exhaust system?

Tucson,
The SMA system is up into the frame like the stock exhaust. Your concern was also mine. My understanding is that you can add these parts as needed and not have to buy them all at once.

Well I have the JBA Headers and Corsa sport exhaust. I chose the sport souly upon the fact that it would be the loudest (loud things = fun ), not by what performance it would give me. Though I have the dual 4" pro series tips (I think they're 4"), you can get them with a different oval type tip, or the off-road version (no tip, stays up under the truck protected), or I can just take my tip off. You do not have to by headers and an exhaust at the same time, the exhaust systems are all cat-back systems and will bolt right up and work fine. The SMA system is up inside the frame like Bad Dawg said, and so is the Borla I think. The Bassani system won't work with air suspension, and neither will the B&B system (I don't think).

I installed the Extreme flow set-up.
Can't comment on which one is the best, but research suggested this was it at that time. I've been very pleased with the performance, and sound.

Got a discount for going in on three systems.

I went with the Other Guys Headers, they are a longer tube than JBA or most others I've seen. Needed a little more modification of the stock exhaust system due to the longer tubes. I needed to do some welding on this system, but the kit came with all the necessary parts. I also like the flange, it is 1/2" thick and they have are cermic coated.

After the cats, I installed a Flowmaster 50 series muffler. I did not want to change the exhaust tip, since most aftermarket systems hang below the rear bumper. I don't like the look of pipes hanging out the back, and I don't want it to scrape when offroading.

What about Banks? This guy works out at my gym in Pasadena and is now doing exhausts for H2's. I have heard good things about him but know little about his company. I will pull him aside when I see him next and try to get the scoop on exhausts.
