hey everyone I was skeptical about his product, until some coworkers started to use it and post gains on MPG. I just ordered it today for $70.

Yeah THought these guys were pulling my chain. Till I saw them really have it installed. Only Time will tell. Either way can;t wait to try it out. I will give it a month.

Just a warning Albie,
It doesn't matter if your co-workers showed improved MPG, or if you show improved MPG, there are people on this forum that will harrass you for using it. I remember reading a post a while back on the same device and some of the guys on this forum were relentless.
So I will sit back and enjoy the fun........

If your looking for a spinning "tornado" intake product. Check out the Airiad helix bore throttle body spacer. It is a post throttle body product which means it works with all throttle angles. The tornado is a pre throttle body product that works best at or near WOT. I sell these spacers in my store and on the 6.0 motor they generally result in 1 mpg improvements with 8-10 hp gains. The Chevy 6.0 is the same as the Hummer. There will be some throttle cable brackets that you will not use. I see them for $95. Forum rules do not allow me to advertise. Therefore I will not sell to anyone as a result of this post. I am just offering free information to fellow H2 owners.

If I did not have a supercharger I would have had a Airaid helix bore throttle body spacer installed the first day I owned my H2.

I have some honest questions and I'm not trying to say anything bad about these tornado thingy's.

1. With this thing spinning around inside your air intake, is there any significant amount of metal wearing off of the ends of it's shaft to cause accelerated wear to your H2 engine?

2. How do they increase the atomization of the fuel by 'vortex action' when the fuel is not injected into the airstream, but into the combustion chamber?

Please feel free to correct any innaccurate information that I've stated, I don't own an H2 so I'm not as familiar with them as most of you are.

good questions Rory

There are no moving parts with either product.

Fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber your diesel h1. Fuel is injected into the intake manifold prior to the intake valve on the gas burner H2.

I have never installed a Poweraid on a Chevy truck and had a customer complain. Most tell me that they are getting 1-2 MPG better fuel economy and a "noticeable" improvement in performance. Those claims hold true on my wifes Tahoe.

Beat you to it Albie! Okay guys, I've followed with interest the debate over the Tornado Fuel Saver. I've had my H2 for 1-1/2 months now. Having flown pretty sophisticated aircraft all my life I'm pretty much in-tune with equipment I operate be it aircraft or truck. I travel the same trip every day..22 miles to and from. The to is slightly down hill and from uphill. It's been a challenge and sort of a game to see what kind of mileage I could get. Over 3 tanks and about 900 miles it settled down at 11.4 mpg...never 11.5 or 11.3 but 11.4 day in and day out and I treat it gingerly timing stoplights, etc. So after watching all the controversy over this "gadget" I decided to buy one and try it. Installed it last night and tested it today. Drove the first "to" leg without resetting the personal mpg. Stayed at 11.4 avg mpg although I really didn't expect it to change in 11 miles when established over 900 miles. So before the "from" trip back I zeroed out the personal avg mpg then drove the "from" trip then the "to trip and the final "from" trip. Total 36 miles. Average MPG -- 13.6! That's 2.2 mpg increase. Now I'm sure this is not completely accurate since it's only 36 miles so I'll give you an update at each fill up. But here's some other interesting observations. I saw 24 mpg instant econ @ 45 mph on flat stretch on cruise control. I saw 52-55 mpg coasting from various speeds. Silly guage but I've NEVER seen that decelerating before. And another clear difference is faster shifts accelerating from stop lights. You know those rediculous RPM's the H2 generates just getting up to speed. It now gets there quicker and shifts sooner. Don't ask me how this works. When I took it out of the box my first reaction was that I had bought that bridge someone was selling. Even though I bought it just for the test I intend to keep it. One note for those of you that might install one in yours. The instructions are pretty simple but wrong for the H2. It tells you to install it in the intake hose downstream of the air mass sensor. If you try to put it in that connection the sensor conflicts with a secure fit. The H2 intake then expands accordian style and the diameter is much larger than the gadget. I installed mine downstream of that in the hard plastic. There's even a protrusion in the plastic that the expansion gap in the gadget fits perfectly. Takes a little fiddling but once it's in it fits great and is secure. Even the instruction say to install it as close to the throttle body as possible.

So there it is guys. Can't tell you the exact theory behind it or the aerodynamics or any of those other things thats been debated. I can tell you I think the silly thing works! So who cares about theory? I'll keep you posted.

sorry guys i have not data update today. I felt it on my desk at work. But I do Keep track of my MPG every day. I avg 14.5 mpg going to work and 9.4 coming back. So I will keep everyone posted. BTW I avg 14.1 mpg from Vegas to LA this weekend.

Albie... I now have 92 miles of very consistent driving since installing the Tornado and the personal MPG has settled down at 12.7 mpg, an increase of 1.3 mpg. The life of the truck mpg has increased 1 tenth and considering it's being absorbed over 2,000 miles is great. After the horrendous flak I got from my post on this subject I wasn't even going to respond further but I was interested in your results. I was just trying to post "useful" information which is what I thought forums were all about. They actually accused me of trying to "hawk" the Tornado. What a joke. SUTJim is right, these people are relentless and take all the fun out of the forum. Maybe they suffer from:

a. Spending the last dollar they could beg, borrow or steal to buy their H2 and can't afford $70 bucks to do a test for themselves.
b. Will type and post anything just to see their words and name on the internet.
c. Fit that email that was circulated alleging
H2 owners buy them to satisfy their inadequacies.
d. Lied about the must be "over 18 year of age" to be a member and have the I.Q. to go with it.

Maybe it's all the above.

DiceMan, What other mods have you done to your rig, if any? When you put your Tornado on did you also do anything else at the same time?

You can never have enough horsepower! Yellow LUX, Airforce intake, stainless headers and exhaust, Gobi rack and ladder, roof mounted off road lights, full wrap brush guard, rear light guards, outside tire carrier, Rancho 4" suspension lift, Ultra "EN4CER" 17x9 wheels, Goodyear 37/12.50R17 MT/R tires, removed side-step bars, 9.5ti warn multi-mount winch.

Bad....No, haven't done anything else. Really I just tried this as a test to see if it worked or not. I'm so happy with it I'm going to leave it in. Can't beat a 1.3 mpg increase for $70 bucks! Thinking about a different intake though. How do you like the Airforce intake?
