Has anyone had the dealer, or other shop, add the sunroof in after it was purchased?

I've realized I really should have gotten it originally.

Just wondering what they charged, good idea/bad idea, and electrical harnesses, etc.

Any thoughts or comments?

My dealer has a local shop do aftermarket installs. The install looked good although you could defintely tell it was aftermarket. And they were charging over $2K for it.

...and I think it's a lot smaller than the factory one.

You gotta really want the sunroof to consider having it done later at a price that's 2X OEM price. The factory sunroof is so well designed and huge, I wouldn't own an H3 without it.

Aftermarket sunroof installations often have problems that require followup fixes, so going through a good dealer may have advantages later.

I bought mine with a aftermarket sunroof in august.Sunroofs were on restriction and I couldnt find a adventure with a sunroof, automatic at the time .
No problems with it have the 4 year 50k warranty with it.
They charged me $1,200 for it .

If your thinking of aftermarket roof look into the pull back rag top,you will get a custom look.
I wish i thought of it at the time.

Below are the only pics I have of the sunroof

442 - Sounds like a good deal for aftermarket sunroof. You are probably better off with the glass roof versus the fabric. Looks good sized also.

Its almost as wide as factory a couple inches shorter front to back.
Its a german made sunroof.

I thought fabric would be cool since the factory glass roof cant be matched and you would get a one of a kind look.To late for me Im happy with the quality of the roof no leaks and very little noise when open with the deflector.

The ones they were doing at the LG dealer were about the same size as the factory sunroof. But the fit/finish wasn't as nice.

they were on restriction when I bought mine too AND I wanted black/black leather so I took what I have (no chrome appearance pkg or adventure pkg) but I LOVE the sunroof, it is very large for a factory roof.

But the dealer offered an aftermarket one for $1500 the dimensions were smaller. I'm guessing every Hummer dealer probably uses a different source for these.
