Unhappy Mirrors...

My mirrors finally gave out... I think. They start to fold in and then they stop. Anyone know of getting the 06 mirrors with no warranty and having to pay up the azz for them?

Take the mirrors apart at the base and clean real well and regrease, also clean the rusted e-clipthat hold the stem of the mirror to the base......I promise you it works like new, saves alot of $$ and takes only an hour each side.

I honestly think it depends on the relationship you have with the dealer.

I've heard of some replacing them through Good Will. I had mine replaced while still under warranty.

I'm lucky though as I've been going to the same dealer for 10 years. Just happened that they got a HUMMER franchise. I bought my Tahoe there, then my Denali, my H2 and lastly my wifes Escalade, so they pretty much do ANYTHING for me. It doesn't hurt that my Service Advisor is a regular customer at one of my Video Stores, and I alays hook him up with 2 for 1 rentals!!!

My H2 is out of warranty BUT I have an idea, and I dont know if this will work but...... I just recently replaced my speedometer with one that has 13000 miles on it. How would the dealer know if its out of warranty to replace the mirrors? If the speedo shows that low miles and its an 04 I wonder if they would replace the mirrors under warranty? Does anyone know how this warranty stuff works?

Is this bulletin for 04 only. My 05 mirrors are sluggish. Has anyone with an 05 attempted this. I am out of warranty with 60,00 miles

I've tried everything you can imagine to get my mirrors covered under warranty....
quoted bulletin numbers from the forums, asked about good will since it's off warranty, asked about recalls.....nothing. Had mine worked on at least 3 or 4 times under warranty and then they broke the last time one month after I turned 36K miles. Mines an 03 so if anyone finds a way to get the 06 mirrors at a reduced cost, please advices. My service dealer told me to get lost more or less.
Thanks.

If you ever had any service done at a Hummer dealer, they will know your mileage that you had then. Now, since you have a new speedo, they will check for a sticker on the side of your door to see if the speedo that you replaced had the mileage written. Ex. if your last visit to the dealer was a yeay ago with 37,000k, then you bring it to them now showing only 13,000 K.. they will question.

First, manually fold-unfold the mirrors a couple of times. Then use the button 3 times and hopefully they will work.

If not, the dealer should replace them. I think they're wtill doing it for free since it was such a big problem. Give it a try before spending any $$$.
