Mine was coming off when I was scrubbing it with my finger... tore my finger up quite a bit too...

I'm sure there is an easier/better way. My spare is sitting in my garage now though so I gave up for now.

My H2 is 2 years old and I wash it weekly and the spots are still on there. I finally said fuk it and gave up.

I had the same problem with the dots on my tires.....i got the "what are those dots on your tire for" question almost as much has whats your gas mileage question. This is how i fixed mine:
