Has anyone found a shorty replacement antenna for the H3? The current one is too long and hits the roof of some garages.

I have tried the auto stores with no luck. The screw end is a 7 mm.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I think it is the same as the H2, but not sure. In any case, I know someone who has one on their H3. I will find out the brand along with pics if possible. (IMO, it does look a lot better than stock).

Try this website: http://www.antennax.com/ the 15" OEM whip replacement mast. They are sending me one to try on the H3. I will post pics once installed.

I had that same shorty on my GMC...it worked well (was able to get it at K-Mart). With my H2 I cut about 6 inches off with a hack saw. I then put the little ball back on. Works like a champ!

Man you have some good wire cutters...mine had a big dent in them after I tried that. They never let me down til that moment. I then had to heat the end of the antanna up with a blow torch, and hit it with a hammer to make the ball fit back on! Worked like a champ! Then I painted it black again!

I just installed the antennax shorty antenna. Looks fantastic, dont hit on garage door anymore and reception is at least equivalent and maybe better than before. I recommend.

I've done the same. It works great and gives the H3 a more polished look.

I put the antennax shorty antenna on and i did a test with distant stations on both FM and AM by changing antennas.

My estimation is the short antenna is slightly less effective than the larger one.

I got a Bullit one off of eBay, however, the end screws were to big or not the right thread. I installed the old one back on after cutting it short with a hack saw. The car wash kept taking it off and they had a hard time putting it back on due to the threads being messed up. I ended up cutting it to about 3" long, spary-painted it chrome and recscrewed it back on as far as it woudl go. The reception is still good, AM and FM. I am mostly into XM now, so I am not worried about the total reception. When I have tried AM/FM they are still easy to hear.
