Default AVIC Installed now I need the DVD sound

Got the AVIC installed and ran the RCA's from the Visualogic DVD to the back of the head unit. The sound from the dvd player only, is very, very low. I turned the gain up on the aftermarket to bose interface to where I could hear the DVD sound but then there was WAY too much alternator/engine noise. Turned it back down to get rid of that and DVD is too low. I checked using the Vizualogic remote and the volume is turned up. . . Any ideas other than plugging the RCA's into an fm-modulator ? I really want clearer sound. Is there any way to amplify the volume coming out of the dvd and still keep it in RCA cable form to input into AVIC ? An RCA amp if you will. Is there a gain I am missing somewhere on the vizualogic dvd player ?

You might want to join and try posting here - I have an AVIC, but I used the internal DVD, working fine.
