Default Another H3 in Utah

Hi. I'm new here. I live in northern Utah. I haven't even had a chance to take it off road yet. I'm waiting for the paint sealant and undercoating to do their stuff. Hopefully this weekend. Can't waite.

My previous ride was a Chevy Blazer. Don't miss it at all...

Picted up my H3 a week ago. Gotta love these trucks. Black H3, adventure package, Monsoon sound, Chrome package, sunroof, nerf bars, onstar, XMradio.

Very nice! I'll be visiting Utah in September and will be renting an H3 for some adventures in Moab. Can't wait! Have fun with it.

Congrats!!!

BTW, what year Blazer did you have? I had a 1998 Blazer ZR2 5-speed that was awesome offroad. Comfortable on highway too. Then I bought a 2000 4runner and have been looking for something beefier ever since. Looking to get me a 2007 H3 now ... it's gonna rock!!!

Thanks for the welcome. To answer a few questions I live in Sunset Utah. That's just west of Hill AFB.

I've gone through 3 Blazers. My first was and 88 S-15 Jimmy, 2wd, 2dr. It was fun but couuldn't get out of it's own way because it was a 4 banger. My second was a 95 Blazer 2wd, 2dr. I still have it with over 206,000 miles on it. Bought that one in Kansas. Not many places to go offroading there. Most of it was private land and in the winter ice storms a 4x4 didn't do you too much good. On the ice chains worked better.
My last one was a 2000 2dr, 4wd. I bought it used with 27,000 miles adn traded it at 96,000. Pretty much rebuilt the front end last winter and started to get a feeling something major was going to break on it. So I decided to trade it in and buy something new.
This forum was one of the deciding factors for me to get a H3. Overall there are not many complaints or problems with the H3. I also looked at the avalanche, GTO, Monte Carlo, Jeep, and the ugly FJ (that standard white top kills me).
But no matter what I looked at I always went back to the Hummer. Besides I've always had better luck with GM than any other make.
Sorry, I didn't mean to write a book.

Yeah, I loved my Blazer, but they're only good for about 100-120k. Or at least that's when stuff starts wearing out.

Let's see, my repair list included front end (U/L ball joints), rear end (springs), shocks all around, body & engine mounts, fuel pump, clutch, rear main seal, brakes, radiator leaks, and injectors.

That's when I sold it, and now it's been going strong for about 2 years now. Guess I fixed everything that was going to break

Isn't that the way it always goes.
I was a die hard Blazer fan too. They were great little trucks. I decided to get rid of the 2000 when I found I was making a list of things I wanted to replace.

My 95 is changing hands too. I know a kid (well OK he's like 25) who needs kidney surgery and doesn't have insurance. Because of some dumb...person who was trying to show off the electrical system got fried when he knocked a brench and shorted out the battery.
The 95 has been just sitting in my back yard taking up insurance money for several months so I'm going to give it to him. He really loves the truck and at least he'll have a ride and I know he'll take care of the old girl.
