Default I'll bet I'm not the only one

Lo and behold, putting on my new license plates, I discovered the trailer hitch in the front bumper of my H2. When I bought my H2 two years ago they transferred plates and put them on at the dealership which covers the hitch. When I test drove it they had a Lynch dealer plate on the front and back. Would have been nice to know for launching my bass boat. It'll be a little pain to take the plate off and on for launching the boat, but worth it. You would think with all the pictures I've seen of Hummers I would have known it was there! Since my old H3 didn't have a receiver in front, I just assumed this didn't either! I'll bet I'm not the only one who didn't know this~

I'm just curious, I have a small bass boat, but have had it only for a year and am new to trailering, boating. In what situation woud using the front hitch be more practical. I usually only go to my lake in maine and have no real trouble launching the standard way on the ramp, theres enough room to manuvere there.
That plate flip up looks pretty cool!

I'll use the front hitch when things are tight and I have to back it through lots of trucks and trailers. It's so hard to see behind the Hummer even with the rear vision camera and it's easier to manuever when it's in front of you. I had a front hitch and receiver on my old F350 and loved it!

I use the front mount for a rack. Bought an aluminum rack made for the rear receiver. Mounted two fiberglass lawn marker poles to each corner that stick up to show me where the front edge is (good for when it is empty to remind me I am longer than normal!!! When we go camoing I will either stack wood on it or use it to carry a large cooler that I use bungee cords to keep on. I also use two ratcheting hold downs, one on each side and go to the font eye hooks to secure the rack better. Works great!

You are not the only one. I owned my H2 for over a year before I found out about the hitch.

I use the front receiver to move the compressors around behind the shop. It gets their attention when they see me back their in my Hummer wondering what's going on. I take the plate off and on, and love that flip up plate. My order is going in tonight for it.
