Ken,

Do you mind posting a picture of you with the chin straps and other stuff on?

For research purposes.

I didn't mean it like that.

FWIW- I think the mask is sexy, it's kinda like I'm fuggin Darth Vader.

I noticed Ken stopping breathing and bucking for air often at night. It scared me to the point that I was staying up worrying about him. Not to mention the large snort (not a typo) when he finally came to finally breathe in- scared the crap out of me. It sounded like some sort of devil pig. His eyes were always red and he had bags and was pretty tired all day. I have been waiting for him to get all this done for years.

Anyway, the CPAP has helped, his eyes are white and no bags. He gets up earlier and gets more done during the day. The machine just has a low hum and you can hear the exhale, but at least I know he is breathing.

The amount of oxygen lost during sleep apnea is scary. Like Ken said, bring your own pillow to the study, my Dad took some Benedryll before hand also. It is awkward falling asleep with cameras on you and all the sensors.

Good luck and keep us updated.

If you're really serious, you can have one of these installed.

Good luck on the study. My docs have been trying to get me to do a study for years now. I'm still holding out, and not sleeping too much consequently. Oh, and if you really want to get some rest, take the ambien, but make sure to ask for a .5 MG. of Xanax too. It'll help with the anxiety of the test ya know!

Pfft... ambien... xanax... what ever happened to good old drinking yourself to sleep or abusing animal tranquilizers?? You new age hippies...

On a side note... when sleeping pills say non-habit forming and so on, they really mean, good luck sleeping without these from now on.

I started taking them to adjust my sleep schedule about a year ago and ended up taking them every night just to get to sleep. But they made me quite drowzy during the day. I recently stopped taking them. The first 10 days or so, I'd get to bed around 1am and just lay there until 9 or 10am without being able to sleep a wink. That continued until I was able to finally fall asleep after laying there for 5-6hrs and slowly got better. A month after I stopped, I'm finally back to normal!

Pfft. You were just taking the wrong stuff DEI. What you need is 300mg of Seroquel along with 1mg of Xanax XR. Just remember, those things will kill you. I've had people all over my ass for months about getting blood work done. Again. I love it, I'm 22 and people are freaking out about my bloodsugar, diabetes, and all that other crap. But it helps me sleep, a little.
