Dude, those are sweet, could you give me more details, like ride, how it effects offroad driving, do the 305's stick out a lot and cause every little dirt speck to kick up the side, etc. TIA

Great pics, I want to go there
In the last pic, could you just not get traction to get up and over? Do you have a locker? Just curious.

HummerNewbie: guess I should be the Newbie for asking this question, but exactly what is the function of a locker? Must admit I'm not familiar with the term / equipment, but want to learn. Thanx.

H3Man - The 20" wheels look great on your rig. Personally I like the look of 20's on an H3 (anything bigger in diameter doesn't look right). 20's look just about right and don't sacrafice too much for most using their rigs for moderate offroading.

Always good to learn
Someone else can certainly come in and give a better explanation but basically the locker locks the rear differential so that both rear wheels get equal power. Without the locker you can have one wheel with good traction and the other without and the power will go to the one without. At least that is the extent of my understanding of the locker. Straight base and lux models do not have the locker.

Yes I do have a locker but what you can't see is that I busted a tie rod attempting this particular hill. On the passenger front side of the truck there are deep pits in the rock and my front end started to bounce, I let off the gas too late and my front tire got caught in one of the pits and pop goes the tie rod. Soooo they winched me up and we fixed it kept on wheelin. It was a blast!!!! I have more pics but they are to large to post them. Ye the lokr is huge advantage and it works great. At the angle I was trying to get up, stock H2s' could not get up. Thanks for compliments guys!!!!

Well, that would be the first H3 tie rod I have heard of breaking. Pics were great and looks like a fun place to wheel. Maybe I missed it, but where was that? Did you have a spare tie rod with you?

Yes I believe I am the first. The head of Am Generals service department was there and he said the same thing. They winched me up and RonCarter Hummer was there providing mechanical support along with AM General, and supplied the spare outer tie rod and fixed no charge. And yes I strongly suggest bringing spares!!!!

Cool, driving it like you rented it and using it the way it was advertised. You should consult for Hummer.
