Default Took the 3 to Hatteras

I went up to hatteras this weekend to do a little surfing and fishing, and couldn't resist takign the 3 on the beach. Wow talk about smooth and capable. I had absolutely no problem in soft dry sand, soft wet sand during a storm, hard packed sand in the surf. It had no problem completing a turn in the soft stuff with the wheel totally cranked. I must say I get happier and happier each time I take it somewhere.

Hey blindzebra - I live close by in Durham and make at least one or two trips to Hatteras each year to surf fish. This year will be the first with the H3. Have taken several Wranglers, Trucks and Land Rovers in the past. Can't wait to get the 3 out there to compare them. Keep telling my dad the tow hooks will come in useful to pull his '04 Land Rover Discovery out when he gets stuck! Catch anything?

I just took mine to the mall. Other than having to replace the front and rear diffs, I had no problems at all!

We caught one 18" flounder, but that was it. We surfed the first day we were there and that was the day there were a ton of fish in hte water. It's funny when a swarm of pelicans are divebombing the break right next to you, but you have to think there's probably a tihs load of sharks in there too. O well, i still have all of my apendages.

HI- when are you gonna wheel? I just found out I have a buddy who has so much private land with 4x4 trails you can't do them all in a day. If we can get a group together to hit it I'd love to go out there for a day trip maybe. Let me know who's interested.
