Watch for wheelin pics next weekend. I think we are going up to West Branch to run snowmobile trails. Sandy hill climbs through the woods. Too narrow for an H2,,,Just right for a Jeep,,,We will see about the H3,,,hopefully not too much pinstriping

The yellow one had the 5 speed, and wheeled well.

The green one is an Auto,,,we will see

I bet there will be many old Jeep liberty owners that move to the H3. How long did you have the yellow one?

hey Hurf, how much extra are they paying you for these pics and info. Those sheet rock boards are 5' long is their any extra room to the back of the front seats, I believe the length should be 67 inches or 69 not sure.

And if you have been driving these things for two weeks fill us in on the ride quality, how is it compared to a jeep wrangler > with out 33's and a lift kit > stock CJ
thanks for all your extra effort to bring these pics and info to us drewling slobs.
Would you buy one????????????

Extra Pay??

Job Security,,,Just thought you guys would enjoy some pics.

Sheet rock boards are 5'. When the back seats are folded down,,the floor is not level (bummer) the rear seats are about 3-4" higher than the rear floor, so the rock is on an angle.

I am 6'8" tall and the seats are All the way back in that pic.
So the sheets just fit, and yes they were touching the front seats.

The good:

Like I said I am tall and this truck has as much leg room as a full sized one,,and still room behind the drivers seat.

The truck is tight and quiet. I live about 1/2 mile down a Michigan dirt road,,,with thaw and freeze it gets very "washboardy" No squeeks/rattles.

For a stock truck it wheels great, lots of articulation, gearing is good, Center of gravity /ground clearence is good, Rear locker is nice,,5 speed is tight and well geared, turning radius is Awesome

I would think that it could follow my built CJ7 around all day,,with only the tightest spots being an issue,,or when a front locker is needed

The Bad:

I need a Full Sized Truck. This is not a big truck,,good and bad. I would say it is size comparable to a Chevy Extended Trail Blazer.
I am usually assigned a H2,,'Burban,,Tahoe,,Silverado,,Escalade,,etc

View,,Like all Hummers,,

Front of the Rear wheelhouse flares catch alot of mud,,bugs, stones, etc

Power,,The power is "OK" Does a fine job because the gearing is right,,and the 5 speed helps. I want our 310 hp aluminum block 5.3 dropped in. But again I am a gear head and usually wheel a 250 hp AMC 258 CJ7 that weigh's less than half of what the 220 hp H3 weigh's.
It does fine around town,,on the highway,,an Off Road.

Step in height is tall,,good (ground clearence) and bad,,The one my wife orders will have the removable steps

Overall I think it is a Great truck and we should sell alot of them.

I will order an automatic for my wife when her current lease (Buick Ranier) us up next year

Hurf Thanks for the report, i will wait it out > hey do you think that it matters to have the locking dif and the adventure suspension, is their a difference in the off road suspension? do you realy need it if you are not planing on wheeling it on the harder stuff. It would seem kinda of stupid to have such a cool truck in a whimpy version.

I think the Adventure package is a very nice option,,if you are going to wheel it.

You need to decide if the extra $$$ is worth it for how much you are going to wheel it

The only other thing is that for resale I would ASSuME the Adv pkg would be a plus.

Hurf, thanks again, what I am realy asking is their a real difference in the parts used in the so called adventure suspension package or is it just the larger tires? I do not know how intense I will wheel this thing but I know that i tend to use my toys pretty hard, I beat the piss out of my harley, flatside carb, kicker cam, and perfomance ingnition, pipes, its a FXDX blacked out no show all go hell raising ride that I seem to ride flat out alot. The $$ doesnot matter, its only that they ordered my H3 wrong and I do not know how much longer I am willing to wait, I have my car sold, and he's bugging the **** out of me to buy, my H3 is due in soon > I hope and its like > I just want to get it already. By the time I get it I will have Hummer Guru karma status

Adventure package:
Locking rear diff.
33" tires.
builder said it was the same shocks for adv package and lux package.

Here's my 2 cents:
The dealer F'd up. not your fault. If you plan to go off road you want the locking rear diff. Otherwise go buy a Subaru waggon.
I have seen both the lux model and the adventure modle up close. the tires on the lux look like slightly large car tires and look way too small in the rear wheel well. The 33" tires that come with the off road package look much better and will perform much better. Now tires aren't a really big deal as upgrading will have it's advantages over the stock tires. But not having the locking rear diff is a must if you're going to off road. Your dealr F'd up on you and they should be doing everything they can to get you the H3 that you ordered... not the one they screwed up on.
Just my 2 cents, but i wouldn't buy it. Their are plenty of dealers that will have these trucks in very soon. Within the next couple of months they will be everywhere!
Good luck,
Tim.
BTW- what state are you in?

yeah Timgco, (NJ) I kinda feel the same way, I want the lock becuase I know that I will def > be in the mud, anyway thanks much for the insight, it looks like I will be bumming for the next month or so until I get the H3 I want. I ordered the first week of april, and I will end up being the last one to post my new H3, well thats they way the ball bounces. These f-----g car dealers should know more about their products, these guys were idiots, I knew more then them just by asking questions. Unbeleivable how they just sit and wait for us to buy never realy knowing everything about the vehicle packages, they do nothing all day and still have no interest in learning the right information. I guess that is why the sell cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The CJ7 is built for the trail

The H3 is not,,,,yet.

My CJ weighs about half and has about 20 more HP than the H3 does. That tells most of the story.

Plus my CJ is locked front and rear,,33X12.5X15 MTs, and was painted in my garage. I usually trailer/flat tow it to the trails.SOOO I wheel alot more aggresivly with the CJ than I do with the H3.

The H3 does a great job for a stock vehicle.
Needs a V8
Needs a front locker
