I lost my wipers in the middle of a blizzard last thurs., but after an hour with ign. off they came back to life. Is this common/recall? Anyone else have this problem?

I have read that the H3 wiper motor has a circuit that kills power to the motor if your wiper blades gets stuck or frozen to the windshield .. this keeps your wiper motor from burning up .. I think you have to shut the truck off for a while and it will "reset".

Correct, but not just the H3, almost all wipers have a built in circuit breaker that pops to prevent the motor from burning out. However, on a cold day it should only take a few minutes at the most.

I was out playing in the snow last week, same thing happened to me. It only takes a minute for it to cool off and run again, H3 running or not. I never pulled over, just turned them off for a minute. I finally got out, scraped all the extra junk off around the wipers to take the load off, and all was well.

I have to say whoever designed the the wiper setup with such deep wells for snow and ice to collect was not the brightest bulb on xmas tree.
