Default H2 Gear Shifter

Gear shifter in park but the car can be pushed to roll either forwards or backwards. Tried pressing brake pedal while turning the ignition key-starter didn't make any noise or didn't turn. Headlamps work fine as does interior lamps. Cannot get shifter moved out of park. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Is the shifter itself in park and can not move, or can you move the shifter around?

I replied to the thread you posted on the other forum.

Sounds like the shifter cable is disconnected. Look under the rig at the tranny and see if the cable is connected. I would guess not since you can roll it.

Yep, definitely the shifter cable and for some reason if you sort through the older posts, this was more prevalent in the pre 2005 H2s. Now that they are getting some higher miles on them, it could be all years now.

If it turns out to be the shifter cable, look for my cheap fix
it saves you from buying a whole new shifter cable assembly for basically what is a 35 cent part
