No way! I have known a several people with Dalmatians and all but one of them was a basket case.
Great dogs everyone.
Don't have any pics of her but I have a Shar-pei mix. Tosha is about 11 and is one of the best dogs I have ever had. Her dad was a full blooded Shar-pei a friend had for breeding and her mother was his other dog, a Doberman/Lab mix. The one dog I have had that might have been better was a full blooded Cocker. He and Tosha are two of the smartest dogs I have ever been around. Funny thing is, a friend of mine had Tosha's brother and he was dumb as a box of rocks.

Retrievers are the best. That idea got shut down, too.
Same with the Basenji, Cocker, Lab, Greyhound, Whippet, etc.... </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Okay, this is getting serious. She's shooting down all my suggestions.
How about these guys:
Bernese Mountain Dog - 80-120 lbs of the cuddliest, most loveable & loving, snuggle monsters a person could ever find. Beautiful dogs!
or
Corgi, Jack Russell Terrier, Wired or Smooth Fox Terrier, Dachshund (Weiner Dogs!)
She drives a big a$$ monster H2, she can't be havving some sissy purse dog! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
YESSSSSSSSSSSS! Go with the Bernese Mountain Dog!!! It's a close relative of my favorite, but you KNOW she'll say no to the Rottie!

I also like the Greater Swiss Mountain dog. Between a Bernese and a Rotty.
How could she resist that face????

Hey md, I'm sorry to hear about your loss...I'll be feeling the same pain pretty soon. I have a golden retriever that was diagnosed with cancer about 6 months ago and given until Jan or Feb of '06...he's getting thinner but still has pretty good 'quality of life'...loves to go out into the back yard in the morning and claim his territory and walk the perimeter of his kingdom. I'm pretty lucky to have had him this long though...he turned 16 last December. My condolences.

This is Dylan - The Doberman I grew up with. He died unexpectedly from cardiomyopathy last year.
He was a great dog though. Very protective and one of the bigger pure bred Dobie's I've seen. He was 113 lbs.

Why am I reminded of Val Kilmer as Bataman??????
That was obviously an outstanding Dobie! Great pic.
