I have 2 kids with one more on the way. Just ordered 2 leather "third row" seats from http://www.littlepassengerseats.com that are mounted to the cargo tie downs. The owners are really nice folks, and very safety conscious, spoke with them directly when I placed my order. The picture shows the seat facing sideways, but the owners are redesigning the mounting bracket so that the seats can face forward, backward or to the side. The new bracket will also require one hole to be drilled to stabilize the seat a little better. I did not want to drill a hole so I asked them for the old bracket which does not require drilling, but can only be mounted in the sideways position. There is a shoulder seat belt included.

I hope those tie-downs can hold a seat with two kids in it, if there is ever a serious accident.
I would suggest to NEVER place the seat backward, that is called a suicide seat in the industry. If ever rear ended, the back of the seat gives the person(s) some protection, facing backwards at the rear glass offers little protection.

I'd never in a million years put my kid (or anyone else) in one of those things.

That would make me a little nervous. You and your kids would probably be safer if you just trade up to an H2.

As a restraint engineer I would never put my daughter (or anyones kid) in a seat like that.

The web site says it meets FMVSS reqt's but I would like to see there test data.

you should have bought an H2 or new jeep Comando, the H3 is not a 3 row seating vehicle, and its hard enough now to see out the rear view mirror, Well I love my H3 so I hope you can learn to love yours with out third row seating

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We are just bought another SUV (Nissan Armada) so we don't need the additional seating and I cancelled my order.
