Default how do you guys respond to..

..being flipped off?

Do you flip them back? Maybe wave and smile instead? Or, quickly pull out a handgun and express willingness to use it? Plain ignore?

Just curious...I noticed the hate sign first time today; I flipped off that punk back rather automatically right away without even thinking about it, but maybe other response is more appropriate, or maybe more fun? What are your opinions?

I got flipped off by a cute drunk chick, all while she was yelling "HUMMER'S SUCK!"

I smiled and responded "No HUMMER's rock! I bet you give some great ones!"

Her friend who looked embarrased died of laughter, and the drunk chick couldn't help but crack a smile, but still continued to yell mindlessly how HUMMER's are evil.

Don't take it personally, anyone who hates these trucks does it to feel cool, they think it's the "in" thing to do. They don't really hate them, and would probably drive on if they could.

If you don't take it personally it bugs them.

One of my wifes friends was shocked when we told her we got an H3. Saying "hummers are so bad for the environment". And whenever she would talk about it, she would make coughing sounds while saying "hummer" as if choking from the pollution. It was everything I could do to not tell her everything I thought about her actions and obvious environmental lemming-ness. Out of respect for my wife I kept my mouth shut. I hate mindless followers and people that make comments (including the finger) about stuff they have no idea about.

Seriously, the H3 is so much better than a lot of other new vehicles not to mention some of the 20 - 30 year old vehicles out there. Some people are just ignorant. I've not encountered anything except good-natured ribbing by a tree hugger friend who has a hybrid. I think I'd be shocked to get flipped off for just owning a H3, so I'd probably do nothing.

I was ripped into at a gas station by a tree hugger driving a prius. I was filling up and she came over ranting about how much my H3 was a gas guzzler and its bad for the environment. When she was done, I responded and asked her what she was going to do with all that hazardous waste she is driving around in when she is done with her environmentally safe vehicle. You know, the couple of hundred pounds of battery that is in your trunk. I'm sure that's safe for the rest of the evironment when they go. She turned red and stamped off.

I think that we may be possibly seeing hate increase towards Hummers by these idiots in the future. As the gas prices go up, many stupid people will seek ways to vent their frustration somewhere and blame someone, particularly after leaving the gas station... I've been just reading article in today's local paper as how well the hybrids sell and "goodbye to SUV's" and such headlines fill the paper... I think it is the hate against the Hummer brand (labeled as "luxury gas guzzlers" and such), and while our H3's are not all that bad in gas efficiency, they're Hummers and so we get the heat. Do people in Yukons, Tahoes, Escalades and Suburbans get flipped off as well these days? Probably not?

I admit that I dislike being flipped off just for the fact that I drive certain vehicle; local Hummer dealership has the "Hummer Happening " planned for the next week including the convoy drive; I originally didn't plan to go, but yesterday I changed my mind and RSVP'd right away ? mainly to express support for the Hummer brand. Hell, I'm even toying with an idea to buy H2 (while keeping H3); since it is apparently impossible to sell/trade H3 well these days, then I'd keep it.. BTW, do any of you around here have both H2 and H3 in the driveway? I deeply dislike crowd-mentality, and since everyone bashes SUV?s I feel like going to get another one. That?s my money, so what.

Ha-ha, so who's gonna print those stickers with Viet Nam Vette?s remarkable " ..GAS..$ 8.50 A GALLON.. SCREW IT...I'M STILL DRIVEN..!! TILL THE OIL WELLS RUN DRY..!!! " from the other thread?

So again, what would be the good way to respond to punks flipping you off these days? Bring your ideas ? thanks!

Speaking of Prii mention how they get all that nickel (about 5 pounds i think)by strip mining and outright raping the country side, whereas our truck takes about 3 ounces. If you want to be green why not buy a chevy Aveo or scion that delivers the same fuel economy as a prius without all the heavy metals needed. Not to mention they cost about half as much to recycle once you've decided that yeah, "A Hummer really is what i want." Also why not ask the citizens of Sudbury why they're bringing a lawsuit against the nickel mine? They'll probably tell you it's because of the amazing amount of birth deffects in direct result of the mine. As far as emissions our truck is already up to the 2009 environmental emission standard. If you run 100% synthetic oil, then you cut your cold start emmisions even more.

As far getting flicked off, I usually smile, wave, and then maybe swerve at them if they're close enough

The GUN is the sensible thing to pull out ... you get no back talk, no fingers, no mouthy tree hugger responses.
It allows you the freedon to speak your peace without interuption...

go for it...

I suggest a 44mag 6" or anything else massive, scarey and that demands respect (maybe a Mossburg 500 18 1/2" pistol grip pump)

The best argument to ignorance is truth. My H3 gets 16-20mpg and I tell folks about it. No big deal. People are suprised to hear it and respond favorably.
If they flip you the sign. Ignor it they might have a 12 ga. handy!

I have generally had good responses from people about my H3. It took my coworkers awhile to figure out that I had a H3 and not a H2.

They are also surprised about the gas mileage that i get in it. Only bad experience I had was someone left a note on my windshield saying "gas guzzler". Ironically I was parked next to an older full size ford truck which I know I get better mileage than it.

On a Hummer happening we were driving convoy back to the hotel in Reno. We drove by a park with a bunch of kids playing, and a teenager on a scooter flipped us off. We just waved and kept on going.

But thats about it. Now I just watch people reading my back window when they are behind me because them laughing makes me laugh.

Nobody flips me off...but then again I have Veteran plates and dogtags hanging on my rear view.

Or it could be because of my POW/MIA, Retired Air Force, or Veteran of Foreign Wars of the United States stickers...back window, you know.

I've only gotten flipped off once or twice, it was just some high school punks and it didn't really bother me.

But I'm getting really tired of coming out in the morning to find my truck splattered with eggs. It's happened 4 or 5 times and I've tracked it to see if there is a pattern. it's always on a saturday night in the wee hours but the saturdays seem to be entirely random.

The last time they nailed my friend's Buick too. Guilty by association I guess.

I've checked another H3 and some other SUVs in the neighborhood but they're not getting hit. Hmm..

I'm a friendly neighbor and keep to myself for the most part. No one really knows me in the area so I don't think it's a personality conflict or a revenge tactic.

That's ok, I'm gonna catch those little rat bastards...
