The popular systems are Borla, Magnaflow, B&B, and Gibson. Borla and Magnaflow use a resonator and muffler like the stock system. B&B only uses a muffler located in the stock muffler location. Gibson only uses a muffler located where the stock resonator is and has two pipes coming over the axle - they have a few different systems including SS and aluminized steel versions.

I think the Magnaflow stainless steel system is the least expensive SS system. From discussions with the manufactures it seems that Borla, Magnaflow, and B&B have similar gains. I haven't spoken to Gibson, but I hear many good things about their system.

I bought the B&B, but if I had to do it again I might get the Gibson system.

I had my resonator and muffler cut off. Had them weld a Flowmaster 40-Series with two turn downs where the resonator use to be. I love the sound. Its loud and some people arent into that. It still wasnt loud enough for me so I had a Cut-Out pipe welded right before the muffler. So I can run either my flowmaster or striaght exhaust. I only paid $120 for the flowmaster installed. Then another $60 for the Cut-Out.

I too am looking for an exhaust system, but don't want to sound like one of those lil rice burners from hell that are always racing around. And speaking of small cars, I drove over one at a stop sign, and the guy tried to blame me for the wreck.. He was the one that got in my way. I couldn't stop laughing.

I'm running the Corsa system on my H3. Interior noise level is acceptable for use as a daily driver. Freeway cruise sound inside is close to stock (in the range of 70-85mph). Exterior sound is kind of like a BMW straight six, actually sounds good. No rice burner 4 cylinder sound, no V8 rumble either. Power increase can barely be felt, just a little extra is felt pulling long hills in 3rd gear (auto tranny). For serous wheeling you will need to have a muffler shop modify the tips to make them removable, otherwise they will probably drag.

I'm using stock intake, don't care for the sound and suspect filtration of aftermarket systems.

S.

I have the Borla and it is high quality and a nice deep sound. Not loud but deep.

I am also looking into a new system. We had someone hit the hummer in a parking lot, not much damage, need a new bumper and the exaust was pushed about 8" forward. Took it to the dealer to see if anything else was damaged, found a piece of the car stuck in the leaf spring! The dealer cautioned me about after market exaust systems, some add horse power at the top end rather than the low end where we need it. Has anyone done some comparisons of the available systems?

I forget about Corsa. Corsa uses a resonator and a muffler like the stock system. I never spoke to Corsa about gains or cost. If you want to remove the stock system as one complete piece, jack up the frame in front of the passinger rear wheel. The idea is to increase the clearance between the rear axle and the body to remove the stock system from the rear. You won't need to lift the rear wheel off the ground.

Anyone thought about using a camaro muffler. Seems like they are pretty easy to find.
