Hello every one, today I have a question I hope somebody could clear up for me. When I reached 34,000 miles still under warranty, my transmission would not engage into first gear when I placed it into drive. I would step on the gas and it would take off from 2nd gear and would slip into 3rd. sometimes it would go away but by the 3rd day it did it everytime. I checked the level of transmission fluid by the way the book says and it was perfect. I took it to the dealership and they said it was the ignition switch. To me it sounds off that it is linked with the way the transmission changes gears. My friend has a 2003 H2 with 38,000 miles after warranty and had the exact same problems and they charged him for a new transmission. Has any one gone through this or has knowledge of this system? I would greatly appreciate it.

the trtansmission is shifted electrically with solenoids.
when the ignition switch goes bad it doesn"t power up the transmission fuse.
therefore the transmission defaults into a second gear start.
