Default Sunday 11-25-07

DAM, what an i doing up so early...

Its gotta be OMD...

Guess i'll shower and get a Starbucks and a Bagel to start the day...

Went to vist my 84 year old uncle yesterday. He was in the Tank Corp in WWII, North Africa, Sicily, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Was in the first group of tanks to enter Berlin. I'm trying to record as much as I can in his own voice.

If any of you out there have relatives in that age group it would be a good thing to do to find out in detail what they did back them...time goes very fast...

Have a safe day all ... and remember to thank a TEACHER, a FIREMAN, a POLICEMAN and a MILITARY VETERAN or ACTIVE DUTY PERSON at least once a week !!!

Once the frost melts off, it will be time to clean the leaves up in the yard and out of the gutters.

My chicks took me to Outback for my birthday last night, the ribs were tasty!

Got some paperwork to take care of today too....

Good morning/afternoon.

Happy belated Birthday Mike!!

I have been up since 3:30. Lately I have been getting up and unable to back to sleep.

No game for me to really get into today, 'cept maybe watch the Pat's and hope for Brady to choke (just once ) tonight. Maybe check out the skins too. Waiting for Thurday night is going to kill me.

It's cold and cloudy- perfect for watching a game, chilling on the couch and eating good food, but no good game and no desire to really cook after hosting Thanksgiving this week. Poor poor pitiful me.

RYD, I have a video of a school interview I did with my Pappaw about his life, as a veteran and serving in WWII and Korea shortly before he passed, it is a treasure.

Just sitting around enjoying the day till I go to work at 3pm. My Dad was in WWII, he hasn't talked to much about it. But what he has told me I will forever hold close. As for this Suday and every day I thank God that he is still here and pray that he gets better.

Have a Great Sunday everyone.

Just turned on my computer to see a weather statement about the first freeze hitting us tonight. I had been procrastinating on my cold frames for about a week now. We were only supposed to get down to the 40s, suddenly the forecast changed. Darnit. I have these great PVC frames over 6 beds but there's no way I can rig up my plastic sheeting this afternoon that fast, especially if the current wind chill is in the upper 30s. I'm not a cold weather person and I'm not going to leave the heated indoors, especially for a bunch of freakin plants. Gonna have to cover it in sheets and hope for the best. Supposed to be back into the 70s by mid week, I'll get the frames ready then. And by doing so, assure that there will be no more freezes this year.

Convinced hubby to finish painting the garage as well - it's a miracle to pry the XBox controller out of his hand at any given time, especially on a day off. But my dad (who was over for Thanksgiving) got the wall primed and the first coat of red on while hubby was at work, and he loved it when he saw it yesterday. I guess that was enough motivation. The rest of the garage is a light tan, then we have this one wall a bright red where the black and diamond-plate chrome cabinets are going to go. That room is gonna rock.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, time to sort through the Christmas decor as well and see what goes where. Moving to a new place can suck - we had everything tailored to the old house as far as lights go (about 70 strands), so the first year in the new place is going to take a while figuring out a new setup. That's also part of the fun, tho. Once it warms up, of course.

Y'know, there's a cure for that! Happy belated, Mike.
Steven Spielberg, after making Schindler's list, started the Shoah* (Hebrew for Holocaust) Society to make video records of oral histories from survivors still living. They then archive digital copies. Also, my niece took down a biography of his for her thesis at Brown. I digitally archived generations of family photos to go with her completed work.
Have a great Sunday and week EVERYONE!

Yes it is! And yes, final exams are 2 weeks away! The thanksgiving holiday jacked my managerial accounting class schedule. Meaning that 3 of my other midterms were before the holiday.

Quarter schedule is 2 midterms per class and a comprehensive final, per class.
