As for using the factory antenna, if you push out the white piece in the orange adaptor, and then break the two small pieces of plastic, the antenna will slide out. It is identical to the SIRIUS supplied antenna cord. So my assumption is that it will function correctly. There have been no problems so far, other than maybe the SIRIUS antenna has better reception.

I will try to get a picture. Reception was on the poor side, but seems to be better.... I have to give it some time to decide.

I guess I should be more clear. The orange adaptor is seen above in the photo from Klaus. Once you remove that, and then push the white clip out and break the two plastic retention pieces, the cord for the antenna will slide freely out of the end of the orange adaptor. I couldn't leave the orange thingy on because it didn't allow me to push the antenna cord on far enough onto the SIR-GM1.

But once you remove the orange thingy, then you have an antenna cord that has a connector on the end that is identical to the SIRIUS antenna connector, minus being at a right angle. I just plugged that connector directly onto the SIR-GM1.

And as much as I wanted to remove the factory XM module, unlike Klaus' picture, in my 2005 the bolts are threaded from the side facing the XM module and then go through the frame, not the other way around. So it would have been very difficult to remove the XM module.
