No...as a matter of fact some of their TSBs stipulate to use Permatex adhesive/sealer.

It's probably trolls. Does the fluid from the leaks taste like troll urine?

hummerNCO...did you get it solved?

I have yet to leak test it today. I called the dealer, to help me brainstorm...not much help.

So we will see. I am going to do the door grommet if it is still leaking.

still leaking.

So, I am looking at the inside of the door frame now. The two bolts that are attached to the door stop hardware (just above the wiring gromet) Seemed loose...so I tightened them down a bit.

I then ran the hose for about 1hr on top of the roof. The water was only going though the channel at the top, and not hitting the sunroof at all as I did in the other tests. It did leak, but not nearly as much. I then took off the door gromet on the Hummer side, not the door, and filled the inner lip with RTV, put it back on and sealed around that with RTV. For extra measure, I put RTV around the bracket I tightened in the first place. Now to let it set, and I will try it all over again.

Jonahs,

You rock! Thank you for your ongoing help with this. I was wondering about the seals under there. I will cross that bridge tonight if I have to. I am hoping I have it licked now. Tonight I will have another leak test to see if what I did at noon took care of it.

One last suggestion on testing for leaks. START AT THE BOTTOM! Then work your way up slowly. Give it time to start appearing so don't get in a hurry. By doing that you'll absolutely isolate the area i.e. below a certain point. Then you can quickly zero in on the culprit.

This is true. My step ladder has been holding the hose as I run around to find the leaks.

If those door grommet seals are not tightly
sealed it will pour water in. Take a good look at that, especially if the leak started after someone was messing with it for some reason, (running wires, etc..)

Hummertech,

Thanks for the advice. I think that is what it was...yet there has not been anyone running wires. I think the factory fit is not that great seeing that GM made all the water run right down through there. I had an ice storm here about a month ago..and the area between the frame and door had a large build up of ice...it was pretty wild.

I am just waiting to get out of work to be sure. Then i can focas on getting everything dry and back together.

I took my truck in this morning to have the pad replaced and the carpet cleaned. They are going to look at the floor when the carpet is out to see if there is any other sign of leakage there. After reading your posts I am going to ask them to seal the door grommet for good measure. I値l be puddle hunting soon.

I hear that there is a grommet that can leak near or above brake pedal or fuel pedal. Not the one in the floor. Hummer told me about that when I asked about my leak.

I picked up my truck this afternoon. Cerritos HUMMER re-sealed the floor plug, sealed some seam along the door pillar, removed the AC box and sealed something around there (then had to recharge the AC), and replaced the rubber seal around the door. They say it was thoroughly checked for leaks with the carpet and pad out and they seem confidant that it should not leak. Unfortunately they did not seal that rubber boot around the wires in the door pillar even though I asked them if they could. I told them yesterday that I had heard of others finding that to be the source of their problem so I thought they might put some sealant there for good measure, but no.

I did not find the foam under the pedals to be wet so I did not think the water was coming from the firewall area and they said the same thing. So hopefully the grommet up there isn稚 the source.

I知 heading to Las Vegas this weekend, then up to Tahoe. Seems unlikely that I値l find any good puddles out there between Death Valley and the bombing ranges. I値l find some somewhere though and we値l see.
