Default Aftermarket Warranty

Just passing on my experience with Fidelity Warranty Services of Deerfield Beach, FL.

I bought an '05 SUT from a local dealer. As part of the deal, I had them roll in a 3 year, 36K Platinum warranty service. Retail for the policy was about $2100 for the warranty on a truck with 36K miles.

For my first and only experience, I had an exhaust leak (exhaust manifold gasket), the check engine light was on (rear knock sensor), and half joking I mentioned that the mirrors no longer folded in.

Granted these are stealership prices, but the total for all the parts and repairs was over $2,500. Not only did they replace the mirrors, but when the pulled the intake, the warranty company thought it prudent to replace both the knock sensors, not just the faulty one - at their expense.

My cost? Just the $100 deductable. Oh, and they had a warranty covered loaner car if I had opted to take it.

The only down side to the whole thing (if you could call it that) was a two day delay for the warranty company to return a verdict on the claim.

Much different than the bankruptcy notice I received from my last vehicles' aftermarket warranty company's legal team.

I an VERY impressed - I don't usually get this much satisfaction from the OEM dealers service department.

I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but they can count me among their satisfied customers.

Question Re: Aftermarket Warranty

I own a 2003 with about 55k miles, my warranty ran out. Is it possible for me to still purchase an after market warranty?

thank you

We have a 2003 w/64000 and got a great warranty off line.

They did not inspect the truck but have a 1 month grace plan
where we could not file a claim.
If you want PM and I'll send you the link unless others want it too
