I love it. Anyone who is on the fence about one should just do it. I get better gas mileage and alot ore fun to drive. Think I am going to change to more highway gears soon, bump up the boost, upgrade throttle body, and maybe a cam. Upgrades I believe will put me around 600+ hp and 18 or so mpg highway.
What all do you have done to yours Conrad to be @ 605?

Thanks,
Tim

I have the mag charger and I think its awesome! I also changed the headers, rockers, and have the volant maf sensor. The Mag kit seems to really be reliable and my truck now has MUCH more power! Since adding the blower do you find that you experience sluggish starts sometimes? It seems like my rig is sluggish when I start it if its been sitting over twelve hours or so. Once I give everything a chance to "warm up" everything works beautiful.

By the way, I think 605 might be a stretch! I'm going to have to fix that. Add more HP!

No mine feels pretty good, I think better when cold. Do you have the stock maggie tune? I have the maggie with 6 lbs. boost, ceramic headers, cai, electric fans, 160 thermostat, and nelson tuning. I ran at 60-65 mph for an hour the other day and was just over 18mpg. I want to go to 8lbs., 90 mm throttle body, maybe a Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam, and 3.55 gears. I think the sc will give me enough take off then gears will keep rpms down at highway speeds.

When you guys say better gas mileage, what exactly does that mean city and highway ? Can you quality that also by driving habits as in do you drive conservatively or 3k-5k rpms from one stop light to another, highway at sweet spot 58-62 or around 65 MPH or driving 75-80 ? Thanks

Marius

wait, did some say CAM swap in an H2?!

YES, now we are talking!! I have been fooling around with a few cam idea's to bump up the mid range torque but haven't completed it yet.

Also, though the gears will extend your boost and ropm range a bit, you need those gears to turn the stock tire/wheel package on the h2's. They are just way to big and heavy to not have a 4.11 in their. That lingenfelter cam is a good "Boost-cam" from what people have tested. Also, another inexpensive boost cam, a stock ls6 corvette cam. Look into it if you wish.

The stock maggie tune still has alot on the table. Get a better tune and you'll feel the difference in acceleration. I would love to dropa 408ci in like in my camaro in this heavy pig but been thinking about the versatility of my use of the truck.

let us know how it turns out. A 90mm TB would be difficult if you have the 112 blower. I know the newer 122h blower from magnuson has a stock tb opening for a 90mm.

laterZ!

Marius,
I stay cruising on highway around 75-80. Right now I get just under 15 mpg. At 60 I get closer 18.

Obz,
I have a custom Nelson tune, and you can order the 90mm conversion for the 112 from Magnuson, they send you a new j-tube from the 122, throttle body, adapter plug and '02 TAC module. You think that if I put in a cam, bump up the boost, new throttle body and maybe even a torque converter that I would still have trouble on take off with the different gears? I don't need to drag race everytime I take off.

OH, didn't know that!! that blower setup should WAKE UP big time with the 90mm. It fall of boost as much with your current tb.

Of course the 90mm tb will net more power over the other at all rpm's. However, when going into a cam, you really have to do your homework. There are shelf cams that work on average, well, but me personally, i want something that works well for my truck.

What i would suggest is, first, get that 90mm conversion. You won be dissappointed. I have seen some testing with dyno sheets and the difference is enough to make it a good choice. Then, if you want to get a bit more off the line or umph... i would do a torque converter. Now, becareful as some ppl will say that TC and towing dont mix. Talk to yank converters, they are the most efficient converters you can by that isn't a pure race converter.

I have seen plenty of testing and the yank is the way to go. I believe they have a "2500" that will not sacrifice towing but also net a stalled-feel and have a higher shift extension. With that, invest in the biggest trans cooler you can find. It should hold if you are wise with your right foot!!

If you want a cam, well, there are cams that are labels "torquer" they are designed to make a swell of power early and not all on top, which is what we need. Thunder Racing has a CheatR cam that supposively does just that.

Have fun and first, do the 90mm... IMO, it should be enough to make you happy. You might actually drop in boost but make more power!!!

Wow, do you work near a wood mill or ride with the windows down on a dusty road? Guess I'm a clean freak, cause the engine bay looks pretty dirty.

No hard feelings bro...guess I'm just jealous that your rig looks so much better than mine clean and yours being dirty.
