So I was looking on their site... AGAIN!

ANd I found some notes at the bottom:
"NOTE! The net raised height achieved with this system is dependent upon the adjustment of the torsion bars prior to installation. Example: If the Rancho System is listed as 3", but the torsion bars on a vehicle are adjusted to 1" over stock, the net raised height will be 2". Shocks not included. Custom order item. 2006 Hummer H3.

Q1:
Is this not a 4" kit?
Or were they being stupid with their example and not saying 4".

Q2:
How much does this kit raise the vehicle in the front?

Q3:
How much does it raise the rear?

I am looking into this kit more with clearance in mind. I will be adding a roof rack (big suprise I know), and want to make sure it will still fit in the garage after the lift.

Also the handling is a concern too.

I guess to answer the questions, someone would also need to know the tire size also. 35" diameter is the overall size. So that is about a 2" lift there.

Anyone?

hi
obviously u saw my pics on this, and florida hummers....
the lift itself is abt 4" in front, maybe 1-2" in the rear. add to that in my case, 35" tires from 33's, and overall it sits abt 6" taller in the front. its pretty dramatic. any higher and its too high, imo.
that note abt torsion bar is if someone altered the hght by adjusting the torsion bars.
mine barly fits in the garage, would not fit in mine if i had a roof rack, i dont think. maybe. i can measure the hght of my garage opening if ya like.
hope this helps ya

That disclaimer is for the people who have already cranked the torsion bars. I think it was Fabtech or someone that went through a few arguements with customers saying they only got 5" of lift out of a 6" kit. Come to find out, they already had the torsion bars cranked and was expecting 6" over the already cranked front. According to Rancho's instructions, the final torsion bar measurement is spindle to fender 27" or something like that. So go out and measure what you have and subtract from 27" and that should give the approx. lift.
The note is a general note listed in the catalog that references all torsion bar systems. This does not mean you will only get 2 or 3" out of it.

Its a 3 inch suspension lift if you run 35's you get another inch below your axle for four inchs of lift stuff 37's under and a total of 5 inches is the height with 2 inches coming from tire size and 3 from suspension lift

Tire have nothing to do with how they measure a suspension lift.

its only a three inch lift , the truck gets raised when the axle is raised higher from the ground its not that complicated . some have called it a four inch lift you only get three from the kit 2 inch tire diameter increase raises axle or spindle one inch from ground

we are talking about how much we can raise our trucks you could put on the lift and use go-cart tires and it would set lower than stock . four feet of space in your finder wells will look real kool . suspension = travel ... tire size = ground clearance

But you have increased the suspension height even with go cart tires.

Those will not work with the kit. Too much backspacing.

thanks H3guy just looked at catalog and the one you recomend is perfect . was also wondering if would be better to go with a 17 but not sure if 9 in width would be too wide what diameter and width would be best rancho says they used a 20 inch rim . I prefer a bit smaller wheel for lots of tread width when airing down .

Any of the wheels with 4.5" backspacing should work. The rim width will not effect the knuckle to tire clearance.

TRUE! But by going with a wider rim, it will make it stick out passed the wheel wells more. When I talked with the guys at Ranco, i told them I want the tires inside the WW's as far as possible and wanted to go with a 16 or 17" rim. THey said go with the 8 X 16 with 4.5" of backspace and go with a 35" tire. So, that's the plan in about 3 weeks if all goes well.
