I've been following the posts and press about vandalism/terrorism/hostility directed at the H2 since I bought mine. Personally, the worst I've experienced has been sad-faced looks from hippies giving me the peace sign, but I can't honestly say that I'm exactly comfortable whompin' through (and parking in) places like Boulder and Asheville. Pretty absurd, but it's reality.

Would it be possible to put together an environmental impact FAQ of some kind and make it available in the "About The H2" section of the forum? I'm thinking H2 vs old car emissions and whatever other comparisons can be honestly presented. Mileage? I know that after following some of the 4 X 4 truck forums, gpm in the H2 became a non-issue for me. A reality check for whomever cares to read it. I'm not completely clear on just what I'd like to see, but I think that we could be a tad more proactive as a source of information.

I am not car technology savvy, but I'd be happy to help put it together if there's any interest shown. I also think that this is GM's responsibility and that they're missing a great advertising opportunity.

I see your point and I think it's a good idea. If you are targeting a group of people that commit a felony and destroy property to make a point that is actually counter productive to their cause, I'm not sure what it will do. I have had mine for a month and never had any negative comments or bad looks. Usually is "Cool Truck! or "Awesome Ride"! I don't feel as if I am harming the enrironment or I am supporting terrorism whatsoever. Oil won't last forever and it will all be burnt one way or another. SUV's won't make a damn bit of difference in the long term. If those people really wanted to help their cause, they should focus their attention to developing alternative fuels or something else like it. Cars are much cleaner than they were years ago and they get cleaner each year. I have a Corvette with a 396 cid stroker motor that pushes 450 HP. I do all my own chip burning and I have passed a PA emission test with it. I run cats and smog gear. I'm not an Eviro "mental" list but I believe in being responsible. I think its also safe to say that all us H2 owners wish we got better fuel mileage. My wifes Escalade has the 6.0 and puts out 345 HP and is only 600 lbs less than the H2. She gets 13.6 while I get about 10.8.

Remember the escalade isn't a brick on wheels though... It does have a more aerodynamic body... Plus 600 pounds does count for a lot as far as engine efficiency. When I was racing my old M5 I did a complete rework to drop as much weight as possible. I think I managed maybe 300 pounds, if that. But it gave me a huge performance increase.
