I am really interested in a set of MTR's for my H2 and have seen many pics of the off-raoding. However I would like to see a side shot of one at a stand still(profile shot) to see how my H2 would look and trying not to be picky but a pewter one would be awesome help, but any pics appreciated.

Thanks guys both of those links were very helpful. I do have a few more questions, does the tire's make any more noise than the stock tires? How much does it change the speedometer? Any affect on the gas mileage?

Thanks

I don't have them on my h2 yet since they are about impossible to find right now. I have read in other postings that they are louder than the stock tires which should be expected since they are mud tires, the stock tires are 34.5" tall and the mt/r's are 36.7" tall which is a difference of 6.4% so the odometer and speedometers would be registering 6.4% less mileage and speed than actual, As for gas mileage it should drop slightly and well as a slight power loss from the extra weight and size.

I have had mine for 15,xxx + miles and the noise is not much more than the stock. I t changed my speedometer by about 7%. I tracked it on my GPS. The mileage will also change by the same 7% as it runs off your speedometer. I have the predator programer and adjusted my speed to within .25 miles per hour. Get them as soon as they are available. I run 46 P.S.I. and rotate and rebalance them every 3k miles.

cincyh2,

I haven't posted for a while but as you can see your name "cincyh2" and the icon that you chose are very familiar . You are the first other person from Cincinnati that I have seen on the forum.

If you are interested in going off road then we will need to hook up to see if we can put a trip together. I have been thinking about emailing R2 to see if he would be interested in hooking up to go to the badlands in Attica Indiana.

I have a set of 37 MTR's on a seperate set of stock wheels that I use when off roading. They are fabulous off road and have impressed a couple of friends in jeeps that thought that they would get the hummer stuck.

This also has given me a chance to compair these to stock as I switch back and forth. They are a very slightly louder than stock but not objectionably so. I have run any where from 40 to 50 pounds pressure in them on the road and while the ride is a little stiffer it is not objectionable. The biggest difference in the ride is noticed when you hit large bumps or pot holes. Due to the increased weight of the tires you get more bounce and rebound than with the stock tires.

If I did not have the luxury of using two sets of tires and was going to go off road on a regular basis then I would opt for the MTR's. Additionally, I haven't had any rubbing with them mounted on the stock wheels.

Thanks,
David

Cincih2,

I changed my display name and icon to clear up any confusion(you were here first).I see that R2 has already seen your post and is going offroading this saturday. I already have plans for saturday so that won't work for me but maybe we can get together someother time.I have not even taken mine offroad yet.I live in the western hills area of cincinnati, where are you?

R2,

Saturday sounds like a lot of fun but unfortunately I am just getting over a stomach virus that took me out on New Years Eve. I do believe I am on the way back to the living but Saturday may be too soon for that long of a trip. I will forward you my cell number so we can plan for the future. I have been drooling over the pictures that you have been taking and posting from the badlands and can't wait to be shown the trails by some one very experianced.

Cincinnait h2,

I didn't mean for you to change your name but I did think the coincidence was funny when you consider that we chose the same icon.

I live in Morrow on Rt. 22 (Montgomery Rd.) just north of 48. I have been off road three times. Two were at hummer happenings with one at the proving grounds in Southbend Indiana, that was a blast. Our group took the level three trail for the second time slot which was supposed to be a one hour trip and we ended up getting back three and a half hours later.

I had heard of the Bad Lands in Indiana prior to R2's postings but if you do a search on his listings he has some great photos and I believe there are even some videos. I also believe that the Hummer Club is talking about an event there this year.

There used to be some other H2s posting from the Indianapolis area and I missed hooking up with "Duramax Tim" at the last hummer happing at "The Wilds". It appears that we are getting enough H2s that are interested in going off road in this area that we should be able to put together an outing.

Thanks,
David

cinci, if you ever want to head up to the badlands we can ride up together. I am at school in cincy (Xaiver) and I am going to meet R2 up at the badlands. I have been there a few times and it is fun.

Cinci,
I'd be careful of Chris. He's "attending" an institution for the criminal pants-crappers.

Thanks for the info on the tires, and hopefully stay on track about the tires. Does anyone know of a similar tire that would not be a mud terrain?? I really want the tires for the heighth they provide and personally look much nicer than the stock tires but would rather have an increase in height with an all-teraign desing. Thanks for the help guys!!

prplprowlr,

BFG makes the same all terain TA as the stock tires in 37x12.5x17 if you are interested in the same type of all terain tread pattern as stock. I have attached a link to a search of their sight for that size. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?startIndex=0&width=37X&ratio=12.5&dia meter=17&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark =1&x=18&y=9

Thanks,
David

I have been looking into the all terrains also and do like the bfg all terrains but mickey thompson also makes a 37/13.50/17 fun country II all terrain which I am looking into. I don't buy anything without a lot of research and I have not found much info on the mickey thompsons yet.

Thanks for the help, as far as Mickey Thompson's go. I had a set of the Fun Country on a 95 Dodge and they were 35x12.50x15. I put 12,000 miles on them and never had a problem with them. However I am sure the tire has improved since then and the BFG that cinci showed me is the way I think I am going to go. I really want the height without adding a lift kit(been there done that).

I like the bfg's but am looking into the mickey thompsons because they are actually 37" tall and the bfg's are only 36.3" tall.I Just want to find the tallest tire that fits without a lift also.
