They look small to me. So what does it look like if you don't get the chrome package?

Looks like a kiddies golf club. I hope the 05 mirrors can be retrofitted.

Might be cool if the outside rim piece were transparent and included a turn signal light. As is, I'm not too sure...

That's just ugly. Plain and simple.

The changes for 06 are the mirror, the word Hummer is cast into the plastic just above where the lic plate would go if you did not have a rear mounted spare tire carrier, they deleted the rf door lock cylinder, and it has a longer warranty.

Every 06 H2 we've gotten in has had a rear mounted spare, but I've been told it's an option. As far as deleting the rf door lock cylinder, GM has been doing that on other models for years, because nobody uses the keys to unlock a car anymore, people always use the remote. And when you have a bean counter that says delete a 5.00 part on 500,000 vehicles and save 2.5 million, the big wigs say go for it.

Surely they must have saved some money on the new mirrors...

The more I see them, the more I think that they actually got paid to use them.

as usual, GM is always about 10-15 years late to cash in on the german design. first they use 89 Jetta Hella projectors for the headlights, then 92 Audi RS2 sidemarkers for the roof lamps, and now they've gone and tried to incorpororate Mercedes Benz mirror turn signals into their chrome mirros. I guess they know their target market well, and exactly what styling cues will catch their attention.

After seeing the mirrors in person I have to admit I've changed my opinion of them- Not bad. Nice, actually. Much more substantial stalk- less likely to break. Plus the inner mechanism is now inside the upper end of the mirror stalk tube and protected from pooling moisture(which caused rust and ultimately failure).
Now if GM will offer black caps instead of the ghey chrome bling caps I'll consider ordering a new PEWTER '06... unless the H2 Alpha(which I get to see in Vegas on my way home from Moab) has something special that makes my wee-wee tingle.
