VCU is directly behind the controls. The faceplate is mounted to the front of the VCU

Not trying to hijack the thread. Does anyone make a bypass for the Onstar module so that you can use your own phone? I have an 07 with the non-lux 6-disk, and have contacted Coastal, but they do not make one for this application. I have looked into the Motorola 650 and the various Parrott systems, but am interested in something more plug and play that will work with multiple phones (at different times, not simultaneously). Bluetooth is preferred, but wired would work. I am most interested in features that auto mute the stereo, use the factory mic and work with the steering wheel controls. I have thought of tapping into the factory Onstar unit to tie wires in to use a seperate phone.
